So one of my close friends is writing a story and sheâs an awesome author whoâs so passionate about writing!! Check out theamazing_jay 's blog and her story on wattpad The Lost Demon!!
well here's what I have so far it's a bit of a read and it's only gonna be more
So yeah I guess I'll just kinda work slowly on chapter 4 of Lost Demon. Slowly. Already kinda have the first paragraph written, below the cut, though I'll probably touch it up. I meant for it to be a little emotional? Tell me if I struck that feeling at all.Â

Lost Demon
**Or well I guess this is just a recap. Kinda. Below the cut will be what has been currently written for Lost Demon, and as a small explanation I will say that the writing is not meant to be perfect. As all I do with it is use it for visuals. It is also a little wordy, though not actual novel worthy. If you're someone who doesn't like to read a lot then you don't have to. I also beware those who hate bad grammar. I'm bad at grammar. Still though I kinda like to be as detailed as possible so tell me if one thing sounds even remotely confusing. Most of it is also unedited. Save for the last "chapter". I had help with that cause I felt something was off and a friend was kind enough to proofread. So here it is. Lost Demon.**
If it is too hard to read the following writing for various reasons, like my background hurting your eyes, then here are the following links to the DA pages instead. Just to save your eyes.
Chapter 1Â Chapter 2 Chapter 3
-----------------------------------------
Chapter 1  The gusts of wind howl around the tall dunes of the Yasuragi Desert, a place of the brightest sand in the known worlds. The winds pick up to twirl about a dust devil, slowly dissipate to a cloud of sand, and settle to show a single figure walking alone. He is about 5'7'' in height, wearing an over shirt over a black shirt and black jeans. He runs his hand through his bleach white hair trying to get the dirt out of it. His hair is of a most unusual sort, the length of it goes to about his chin, but the very back of his hair is what makes it the most different. Unlike most hair, it doesn't fall down into place, but instead it sticks out, forming what looks to be a spiral.  The person stops to cover his eyes from the blazingly bright sun to stare at a looming rock spire that was way off in the distance, covered in it's own sandstorm as if it was trying to stay conceal itself from prying eyes.  After a brief pause the stranger started a brisk walk towards the looming spire.  The Spire loomed a great height, about 6 stories above the stranger as he stepped up to it. Directly at the base was an oddly conspicuous Welcome Mat. The stranger chuckles to himself, "Come on Doc", he says with a slight whisper of a voice. He stoops down to lift the mat, "As if the 'welcome' wasn't suspicious enough". Beneath the mat was a scanner, shaped in a circle and sized around a modern CD. The stranger pulls out an amulet, which is strangely shaped like his hair, and places it on the scanner. As soon as the amulet had been placed and quickly scanned, it instantly shoots underground and covers up with a slab of stone. Looking forward to bright lights that had started at the base of the rock and started cutting out the shape of a door, kind of like out of a sci-fi series. With a click the newly created door slides backwards and swings forward to let out a gust of wind from a deep hallway, bringing with it the scent of freshly waxed floors and Windex.  Our unknown person then starts to walk down the hall, it had the look as if it had been mined out with the only thing not natural being the tiled floors. The hallway had been lit by a series of torches along the wall, making it almost seem to be like a religious cult lived here. At the end of it the stranger stops in front of a lone door, hesitating to open it. His face resembles past troubles and torments, pain that will most likely never go away.  "You may enter at any time Kutaru, it's not like I don't know your there. Just... make sure your Demon Aura isn't up."  After being shocked out of his state of mind from the voice in the intercom, our person named Kutaru sighs, with the strange spiral in his hair dropping to look normal. He takes another moment to regain his composure as he slams open the door, revealing a grand room. It was really spacious, with the only things in there being a desk with a computer and a few machines of some sort.  "Jeez it took you long enough Kutaru, but seeing as you are here that means you've decided haven't you?" There is a small silence, signifying his answer. The Doc looks at him from her desk. She was an interesting person to be around, always smart being as she's a scientist. Her hair was short, purple-blue, with large bangs. She always wore a lab coat over something someone would think as secretary wear. "⌠I take your silence as a yes. So⌠what is to g-" "Everything!" Kutaru doesn't give her a chance to even finish her sentence. There was a slight pause before he spoke again, "âŚEverything exceptâŚ"  At this his hands tightly clenched into a fist, face grimacing from past pains. Slowly Doc shifted towards a light switch, "Don't worry, this procedure will go 100% according to plan" She flicks on a light and shows just how spacious the room is. There isn't much to say about the room, being as it's very empty and bland. "This is the fastest anyone has decided to actually go through with this procedure," Doc was now sitting back at her computer typing up codes, "Do you mind flipping that switch on the capsule please?"  He looked over at the only machine in the room that was nearby, seeing the small switch on the side of it he flicks it on. The room fills with a low hum and goes dark for a moment, lights flicking on underneath in an arrangement like a school hallway ceiling. "That'sâŚan interesting light arrangementâŚ", Kutaru's voice trailed off as he stared at the floor.  "The lights are run on backup generators. I kinda need all of the power I can get for this procedure," Doc gets up from her seat and steps to Kutaru, "Now before we continue with the rest of this I need to ask you a simple question. Do you want the easy way or the hard way?" Kutaru gives her a funny look, "Wha-âŚthat's an odd question. What do you mean by that?"  "WellâŚ," She pulls something out of her jacket pocket, "I need you either drained of your Aura⌠or knocked out. Easy way is taking a pill to knock you out. The painful and hard way howeverâŚ" She turns right and points at the capsule. "That's the hard way. By touching the glass of that Capsule Bed you lose all of your Aura, a little bit painful might I add. However the good thing that comes out of doing it that wa-"  "I'll do it the hard way, better than taking any pills after allâŚ" He swings open the top of the capsule bed and climbs in, being careful to not touch the glass. Doc gives a small exhausted sigh and sits back  at her desk, typing a little more of the coding into the program. "Alright it's set...," She pauses to look over at Kutaru. They simultaneously give each other nod as Kutaru shuts the lid to the capsule. The capsule shuts with a soft little click, releasing steam and an assortment of other noises outside the capsule. The computer in front of Doc had started humming, a few different menus popping up. One specific dialogue came up, 'Boot up sequence initiated... Confirmation?'. Clicking continue, Doc then typed the pass code that was needed, '6,2,2,1,1,1,2,2,0,1,1 NAD'. 'Confirmation Confirmed', read the screen.  Kutaru was a nervous wreck over in the capsule, tying to settle in a little. He nearly jumped out of his skin when a robotic, monotone voice filled the space. "Program Lost is now loading...Complete. Initializing 20% 66% 99% ...Done."  There was a brief silence from the AI voice, making Kutaru even more nervous as before. After another moment of silence the capsule filled with the AI's voice again.  "Hello! Welcome to the Lost Program's Capsule Bed. To continue with the Program please touch the glass covering of your Capsule." Kutaru was hesitant to touch the glass, he trusted the Doc and everything, but he wasn't sure about this all of sudden. He gave Doc a worried look, only receiving a nod and a smile from her. Now that Kutaru had a little bit more confidence in himself, he rose his finger up to touch the glass of the capsule. A sensation of numbness came over his finger as it came close to the glass. He tried to shake the feeling off and continued forward. A spark, followed by a bright flash of light and plenty of noise to go with it. A blast of energy blew a gust of wind outside the capsule, swirling and nearly toppling Doc over. The numbness that had started at Kutaru's finger spread throughout his body, leaving him breathless. With his Aura being drained he slowly dosed off, seeing only a blurred vision of Doc's face.  This is his story. The beginning of many ends. The tale of our Lost Demon.

Lost Demon Chapter 2        Nightmares can't be lost.  Momentary silence. Being completely void of senses. This is what it's like to have the Aura of your physical body sucked out. Of course the Lost Program demanded for such a thing. It was in this silence that a voice played.  " Welcome to the Lost Program." The voice was a bit robotic, kinda sounded like a woman. Then again, anything that had an A.I sounded like a woman these days. " We will now begin the extraction process of the memories you had wished to be erased from your mind. Please be patient, as the program must search for specifics and for anything that will be kept in a lock-down."   The silence returned again as the program went about it's work. A process that is even unknown to me.  " It seems that, under the specifications you gave the doctor, there is indeed a memory that is to be locked up and stored. Under the specific protocols of the Lost Program, you are to view this memory one last time. We will begin this process now."  Slowly the Void came to life. One by one the senses came, creating a small world. First came touch, it was slightly chilly with occasional blasts of colder air. Something was warm to the right, but it isn't clear as to what that is yet.  Next came smell. The air was sharp and crisp, bringing the scent of maples and oaks. The slight sent of flowers? Can't say for sure. Then came taste. Well⌠it really only enhances smell right now. Afterwords sound started to bring more life. You could clearly hear the rustle of leaves, nearly overpowering the small hum of something heavy moving nearby. The chirps and buzzes of nearby things are surrounding, but nothing was clearer than the giggle of someone directly nearby.  Finally sight came along to complete the picture. There was a house, simply built in a western suburban style. There was indeed an oak in the front yard, bugs flying around in small swarms. The humming noise was coming from nearby vehicles passing by. The sky was turning orange, the occasional cloud here and there. Eventually the sight focused on one thing, to the immediate right.  It happened to be a girl, smiling and giggling. She was young, probably around the age of 17 or 18. Her hair was fair, dark brown, and went to around her waste. She stood about 5' 4", though it's hard to say without a reference next to her. Her attire consisted of a loose t-shirt and jeans.  " That was a pretty good movie, wasn't it Kutaru?"  The voice was sweet, almost childlike. She spoke very fluently in Erocian, the language of the humans.  The Erocian language always differed in dialect, accent, and region, but everyone in Erocia understood it.  "It was pretty good Ayumi. Though.. I have to say it was pretty sad near the end."  Ayumi, a familiar name. One that almost seemed distant, but suddenly came back. Kutaru was watching an old memory of his past, though when he told the Doc that he wanted to remember it⌠he didn't think he'd have to watch it.  The view turned to the left to face the houses main door, the Yuutsu residence.  " It was kinda sad wasn't it? How come movies like that always have to end badly when the hero declares his love? I find it downright horrible that the girl dies in the end." "They do overplay it a bit. Sure, it gives them money, but some things get pretty old fast."  A key is pulled out of a pocket, held in a right hand it slowly unlocks the front door to Kutaru's house. The door creaks open to the den of his home, which for some reason has a dining table right in the middle of it. It comes complete with a cozy little fireplace and multiple doorways to other rooms and halls. The two walk into it and settle around the table, with Ayumi putting down her purse.  " Hey sit tight right here for a sec and close your eyes. I have something for you."  "Wha-. Hu-. O-Ok then."  She quietly sat down with a puzzled look, but closed her eyes like she was asked to. The view then quickly turns to the left, towards a room next to the fireplace. Slowly it goes to a dresser, right next to a bed. Not much to really tell about the room, for it is a bit dark in there. The top drawer was opened, strangely empty except for one thing. It was a sort of box, small enough to fit into your hand, and covered in what seems to be some sort of velvet. It was opened for a moment, showing the flash of a jewel and silver. A ring. The box was quickly shut with a snap, the view flashing back to the door way and quickly exiting the room. The view is now looking at Ayumi, with her having probably the most anxious face you can think of. Slowly the view lowers downwards, pulling the box out to the front. A pause for a moment, followed by a nervous sigh. Upwards goes the view to see Ayumi's face once again.  "Ayumi. You can open your eyes now." Anxiously her eyes open up, showing off how vibrantly blue her eyes are. Her eyes instantly darted to the little box in the hand, her face transforming into a puzzled look.  "A-Ayumi. I've been meaning to ask you this for⌠some time now." The words were all clumsy, showing the nervousness of the speaker. He hadn't even continued his lines when you could see the pure bewilderment that Ayumi's face showed. Followed with her eyes tearing up.  "Will you marry me?" That was all it took for the waterworks to start flowing. Ayumi had began crying and laughing at the same time, a joyful expression on her face now that the bewilderment was gone.  A rattle. A jolt. A clash. All the noises you heard in the split second that came after, along with the ripping of the door. A hand appeared in the field of vision, almost like it was moving in slow-motion as it gabbed Ayumi and carried her off to the wall. The view rushes back, followed by a hollow thud and sharp heat in the spine.  " Well well well. Looks like we have ourselves a violation of the law men!" Directly to the right was a general of the Fire Demon Army. His features are kinda hard to look at, for when they are battle ready they tend to look like they were ablaze.  " You, Kutaru Yuutsu, are in violation of law 2347, being in an affair with a Human!"  "What in the Damnation are you talking about! When was that law made?!"  The look the Demon gave would give anyone the shivers. " HAHAHA. It actually turns out to have been made active today!"  " You Fire Demons and your bastard ways! Is there no pleasure you won't take from others?!"  The Demon turned around and looked at Kutaru in the eyes, giving a creepy grin. " No. It just gives us pleasure to watch you worms squirm as everything you love is taken away from you. Bit. By. Bit."  With that a quick thrust was thrown down towards the stomach area, leaving the view fuzzy for a moment. The general briskly walked towards Ayumi, sword being drawn. " For your actions you must pay somehow, and seeming she happens to be the human you are with, she has to pay."  Ayumi's face was pale white as the Demon said this. She struggled, with no hope of escape.  " No! Let- Me- GO! Please don't do this! KUTARU DON'T LET THEM DO THIS!" The view just looks at her, blurry from what looks to be tears.  "Ther-⌠there's nothing I can do Ayumi. I'm powerless. Nothing⌠nothing at allâŚ"  The way the voice cracked, it sounded like despair. It showed in Ayumi's face too, knowing that nothing was going to be able to help her. Not even the one that loves her dearly can do anything but sit back and watch the monster at his work.  " I give the penalty for Kutaru Yuutsu's crime against the Demon Council and all the Demon Lands. Hereby this human will be executed for his wrongdoing. There will be no more words in the matter after this point forward, so we shall continue with the process. You, human, you should be very honored to die this way."   The view slows to a halt. Everything is near still, like time itself stopped. The sword is just at Ayumi's throat, tears flowing like waterfalls from her eyes in fear. The Demon's expression showed he was enjoying it too much, so were the other Demons with him. It was quiet, and it stayed like this for several moments until a single, familiar sound came up.  " Thank you for your patience with the Lost Demon Program. You Will soon wake up, all the memories you didn't want are now gone. From here on out you will only know your name, Kutaru Yuutsu. Your age is now 18. You live in the capital of Erocia. From here on out it is your decision what you do with what the Lost Program has done for you. Thank you for your time."  That was it. Nothing but the void was left now. Nothing. Senseless. Deprived of everything, even feeling.

Chapter 3
-Good morning sunshine-
Itâs a fairly bright morning in Creol Academy, a private school with one of the largest campuses in all of Erocia. Directly in the heart of the capitol, it used to be a school for the demons long ago when they still controlled the land. Now it houses thousands of teens with secrets of old arts and nature. The most notable thing about the campus is that there is one giant tree next to a crossroad of paths leading to variable places in the school. Here we see a sea of students flowing into various directions, all with something different on their minds. There is one particular student we shall focus on though, for she is highly known around the school.Â
âRIN!! RIN KAZASHI!!!â A student runs frantically to this Rin Kazashi.Â
Rin has long black hair and stands at about 5' 2''. She carries a training sword at her side. Her eyes are a vibrant blue, as if the sea itself entangled itâs waves through her iris. She lives by herself, as she knows of no family, yet she keeps her tuition paid on time and maintains amazing grades. She is also very cool-headed and serious at all times, but has a gentler side to her and happens to be fairly intelligent.
âOh... Hey Megumi. Whatâs up?â
Megumi has medium, light blonde hair. Her eyes were a deep brown, and she stood at about the same height as Rin. The two have been close friends for a long time now, with Rin always being there for her. Megumi is from southern Erocia and has dealt with many troubles in her past. Unlike Rin, Megumi is very shy around new people, but once she opens up she can be a great help with anything.
âNothing much really Rin... I really didnât want summer to end yet. By the way how was your break?â Megumi looked a little excited despite how early in the morning it was.Â
âIt was very boring, trust me. I didnât even get much of a chance to practice with my sword.â
Megumi leans slightly to the left to look at the sword Rin carried to her side.
âI always keep forgetting that youâre a Hunter Rin...â She shakes her head as she stands back up, âhave to keep reminding myself to never get on the bad side of all the Hunters here.â A slightly nervous laugh escapes from her. She shakes her head again and regains her thoughts. âOH! I almost forgot! Have you heard the rumors that have been circulating?â
Rin looked dumbfounded, âRumors? What rumors?â
âYou havenât heard about the new kid?â
âMegumi every year there are new kids....â
âNo no no no no.â She shakes her head rapidly. âThereâs a new kid in OUR grade. There are many rumors about hi-...â
An ominous silence suddenly fills the air and drowns out everything, making it hard to understand what Megumi was saying. Swiftly noise fills back up as if she was coming out of water, â-ey Rin!â
She knew what this feeling was and couldnât help but feel alert, but to keep her friend from freaking out she stopped her urge to spin around on her heels to look for the source of the disturbance in the air. She looked at her friend, who looked quite flustered and was pointing towards something behind her.Â
âWhat is it Megumi?â
âThatâs him Rin! Thatâs the new kid!â
Turning around Rin saw the student Megumi was pointing at. Well actually anyone could have seen the student she was pointing at, the very fact that his hair was bleach white made him stand out a lot among the thousands of students. Just his presence alone was sending chills down her spine, remembering the sudden silence earlier.Â
âMegumi... What rumor is most popular?â She gives a worried look towards her.
âMost popular?... â Megumi looks around rapidly and moves closer to Rin to whisper. âMost popular one I know of... Is that heâs a demon.â She backs away quickly, suddenly very alert around her. She had good reason to be scared too, being as sheâs surrounded by thousands of Hunters. Which, by the way, have a job of killing demons in the Human Lands of Erocia. Rin may be one but sheâs a bit more level-headed than most hunters out there, whom would love the chance to get a hold of a demon.
â...Well he doesnât seem bad...â Rin sees the worried, shy look Megumi usually has with new people.
âHey.. Tell you what, want to welcome him to our school?â She tries to give the most comforting smile she can.
â...I.. I donât know Rin.â Of course Rin was already walking hastily to catch up with the guy. âGah! WAIT UP!â
With Megumi trailing behind her Rin keeps a brisk pace to catch up with the guy. Something was wrong here, very wrong. What was that feeling she had experienced earlier? Was it coming from him? As she got closer to the person the air did buzz a bit, almost a hum of energy. She was close enough now to jog in front of him. She spins on her heels a bit to get a good look at his face, briskly walking backwards to keep his pace. His eyes were a vibrant pool of blue and he had unusual teeth.
âSo youâre the new kid eh? Hi! My name is Rin Kazashi and Iâm your class re-â
He doesnât even blink in recognition, as if he doesnât even realize Rin was right in front of him talking. She looses pace a bit to walk beside him now.
âHello? Is anybody in there to hear?â She was a little bit agitated to be ignored so pointedly. Megumi catches up with the two, slightly out of breath.
âMegumi he wonât even respond to me!â She huffs a little and crosses her arms in agitation.Â
âMaybe the rumors are true Rin...â Â She glances at him worriedly and steps away a little.Â
Rin laughs a little bit, or more like a chuckle really. âMegumi I doubt that the rumors are true. Even if they were true, we wouldnât be seeing this guy right now. I think he may just be deaf.... and blind...no that canât be right..â Megumi herself has a little nervous laugh as Rin examines the guy closely.Â
âY-yeah youâre right.... thereâs no way the Academy would let a de-â
There was a return of the silence, drowning out everything. Megumiâs mouth was still moving as if nothing happened but the boy on the other hand was reacting. The beautiful blue eyes had changed to look a sluggish grey-blue, his white hair didnât look as alive as it did either. There was a static noise, the kind of static you hear when you turn off an old box T.V. Suddenly, and very rapidly, The boy dropped to the ground with his eyes rolling back. Sound rapidly came back as if Rinâs ears had been clogged and suddenly popped. Megumi let out a high pitched scream for a moment and jumped back, covering her mouth quickly. Rin just silently looked down at the now unconscious boy.
Something wasnât right, not right at all.Â
At this point all the attention from every nearby student was focused on the new guy. All of them rushing over to see if they could try to help. Some hunters were trying to keep things in order, actually succeeding too. They let only Rin and Megumi anywhere near him, seeming they were next to him when he passed out. Rin happened to be worried, not for the boy but actually because of what he is. Well what she thought he was anyway. Her only problem is that even if he WAS a âdemonâ then what kind was he? He certainly didnât look like a demon she had ever seen or fought before. Megumi, however, just sat over by her lonesome just looking plain nervous. The entire time she had been there she was just simply staring at the guy, not even flinching from the commotion around her.Â
âHey. Hey Megumi. You doing alright?â Megumi blinks a few times and suddenly frowns. She turns over to Rin and changes the expression on her face.
âH-huh? What was that Rin? I.. uh.. kinda didnât hear you.â
âNevermind..that. How about you go and get the headmaster and tell him what just happened.â
âThe... headmaster? Why? He passed out, not get knocked over by someone.â
âThatâs besides the point. I want to ask him... something...â Rin drifted her sentence off and glanced over at the unconscious boy.Â
âO-oh!... Right, THAT. Alright then Iâll... Uh..Get him I guess.â Megumi clumsily gets up, careful not to attract to much attention to herself.Â
âOh Megumi! Bring him to the nurses office. Iâll get someone nearby to help me drag the unconscious one there. Mâkay?âÂ
Megumi glances back towards the boy with a blank and unreadable expression. She slowly turns back around and starts to walk, âYeah... Iâll do that Rin.â Her tone sounded flat, but this was something Rin wasnât too concerned about. She had to get this boy out of here after all and to the nurses office. After looking around Rin found what looked to be a first year at the school. He had short light-brown hair with lush green eyes. Out of everyone in the crowd he looked like he really didnât want to be there, or at least that he looked to be in a hurry, making him a prime choice for help to Rin with everyone else being too curious.
âHEY! YOU! FIRST YEAR WITH THE GREEN EYES!â
The boy looked around rapidly until he looked at Rin squarely in the eye. Â He points at himself as if to make sure he was the one being called for. Rin nods in agreement towards him as he slinks his way to her.
âY-yes maâam?â His voice being slightly whispery but polite, âDid you needâŚme?â
âYes I do first year, as you can see by what had caused the commotion you got stuck in. If you would be so kind as to help me carry him to the nurses office?â
He also looks down at the unconscious boy on the ground in a weird way, but his expression changed rapidly.
âSure Iâll help you carry him. If Iâm to be late to class it might as well have been because I helped someone right?â
âThat is a very reasonable reason. Alright then you go grab his legs and Iâll get his head mâk?â
The first year nods his head in obedience and goes to get the legs, Rin making sure the head is lifted well. Together they part the surrounding crowd and walk towards the nurses office.
--
Megumi wasnât really in a rush to get the headmaster and get to the nurses office, just thinking of the unconscious boy sends cold shivers down her spine. She doesnât necessarily hate him, really she doesnât. More like scared of what lengths normal people would go to if they thought of him as a demon. She would know, for she has experienced human hysteria first hand in her home village. Megumi shakes herself, as these were not the thoughts she needed right now. A gust of wind combs playfully through the grass giving Megumi a few goosebumps. Besides the one giant tree in the central area of the campus, there isnât much to say about the vegetation. So it was mostly grass with a few gardens here and there, giving a clear view of the entire courtyard of the school. Her thoughts end back on the unconscious boy. How did he get into this school? Does the headmaster know? They continue like this while she walks into the main building of the campus, a structure that looms a great 4 stories high and has an ancient and arcane humming of energy all around it. The architecture was created by the Demons that had control over it before the humans. When the humans had enacted a great war thousands of years ago the end product of it was that they got all of the continent of Erocia, and therefore the very land this school was founded on. Seeming as it wasnât their own original design, they felt it would be wrong to mess with itâs architecture so it has had no modifications done to it, including power and any inventions by humans. The windows look like they were ingrained into the walls themselves, along with the front doors which open slowly from the center and flows outward like a bubble breaking in slow motion while Megumi waltzes right through it. The inside is as dark and arcane as the outside in design with light coming from small orbs lined along the floor. The orbs had specific names but she isnât really the best student in the languages of demons, especially as the demons have different designs and names depending on the kind they were. The amount of space in the central room is grand, and surprisingly very well lit, with two separate staircases on opposite ends of the room. In between them is a desk with a receptionist to greet guests, though itâs a usual sight to see it empty as the woman who works there just tends to always be absent. Shrugging to the usual absence of the receptionist, Megumi turns left to a door-less hallway right before the stairs. In the same fashion as the Reception the halls have orbs dotting the edges of the floor to give off light. Luckily it was the middle of fall as the only source of any temperature in this building is through the windows. She still doesnât understand demon technology and how they managed to create windows that lets wind through and nothing else. In fact this entire building has always confused her as everything in it seemed to have a mind of itâs own, unlike human technologies that need an outside Aura to activate to do anything automatically or use any power.Â
It wasnât all too long before Megumi reached the Northern Wing of the school and found the door to the Headmasterâs office. As she opened the door to enter, sheâs reminded why the term âofficeâ is a plain understatement. In a given sense itâs about 2 stories tall with bookcases lining all the visible walls. It has a simple staircase on the lefthand side and on the right a ladder that goes up above the roof, which leads to the Headmasters personal quarters. Of course no student has ever been up there, nor would it be possible as instead of an opening or a trap door, there is a finely woven iron grate. Other than the odd grate at the top of a ladder and the vast amount of books in the place, the Headmaster actually has a normal desk in the center of the room. Of course as Megumi resets her eyes on it she realizes that the Headmaster wasnât actually sitting there doing work like he usually is. She sighs and mumbles to herself as she has to be the rare student to actually see the Headmaster enter the room from his personal quarters. She looks at the grate with another sigh and turns her attention to the top of his desk. She happened to be looking for a small sized bell that should be somewhere on his desk if he just happened to be absent from it. Itâs a procedure she has done before and didnât like that experience all too much. Picking it up from underneath several papers she dusted it off a bit and drew a sharp breath before flicking her wrist. She let out her breath in a shaky fashion as she heard the small little âtingâ of the ball inside the bell hitting itâs wall. To her ears it didnât give off any other noise, something that she didnât understand the first time she wrang it.Â
It was only a brief moment of silence before there was the sound of movement above Megumiâs head as the Headmaster walked in the direction of the grate. As she continued to look at the grate there was a sort of substance seeping through it that had a tinge of really light blue. after a good amount of it flowed out it solidified into what looked to be a head, complete with the sudden appearance of eyes, mouth, ears, and even hair. The newly formed eyes rolled around trying to focus and eventually rested on Megumi herself.
âOh! Well now isnât this a surprise! A second visit from a student whoâs seen me come out of my quarters is a very rare thing. Youâve got some good guts there Megumi, most students send someone else here after the first time.â Spoken with a hearty laugh you could tell the head was still a little liquidy as drops fell onto the floor below.Â
âMr Headmaster, sir. Do you... really feel the need to do that?â Megumi was feeling a little queasy, itâs not a sight easily handled in her stomach.Â
âOho! Trust me Miss Megumi,it is not actually necessary. However when youâve lived as long as I have you have to find joy in everyday life somehow, and I do that by the shocked expressions from students who donât quite understand what I can do.â A pleasing smile stretches on his wobbly face as he speaks. âHowever youâve already been through this once so Iâll cut the silly antics. Give me a sec Megumi.âÂ
At the very end of the sound at the end of his sentence his face literally bursts into water and drops into a puddle on the floor, along with more water from the rest of his body. In the same instant he had fallen into a puddle he had also composed his body back into a solid shape, clothes and everything. The Headmaster isnât really all that tall, probably around half of Megumiâs height, and wears a sort of tux all the time. Complete with a flower that grows underwater. His hair is wavy and sleek like a gel and is deep in color like the bottom of the sea. His eyes, a mixture between violet and an aquamarine, still give off signs of a clever youth and even shows this off in his attitude. His skin isnât as wrinkly as you would think for his age, in fact itâs practically flawless. Being a Water Demon though helps with that as he can change the fluidity of his body.Â
âNow. I see that you must be here on some business at least if you came right before classes start. Correct?â He leans against the ladder as his tone is casually spoken.Â
âA-ah! Thatâs right Headmaster, sir. A boy with unusually white hair passed out earlier in the courtyard.â The Headmasterâs attention perked as Megumi stammered the words.
âA boy with unusual white hair you say?â He questioned with a thoughtful expression.
âYes. A-alot of people were giving him funny looks. Thereâs a lot of rumors around him b-being a demon.â
The Headmaster very rapidly looks very alarmed and begins to talk very sternly. âWho is it thatâs taking the boy to the Infirmary?â His eyes locked heavily on Megumi.
âR-Rin, s-sir. We happened to be right by him w-when it happened.â Her stammering had the little fear she was feeling leak out into her words. Sheâs never seen nor heard him sound so alarmed and serious. His expression relaxed a little but still kept the same urgency.
âWell, out of all the Hunters to find him, sheâs quite literally the most fortunate to have been there. Alright then!â He liquidised what looked to be a cane out of thin air and solidified it. âWeâll meet them at the Infirmary then. You wouldnât have been sent to tell me if Rin didnât think it was a problem. So come along, you and Rin will be excused from class along with anyone else that is helping her.â
Megumi was confused at how rushed the Headmaster sounded and couldnât even get out a response of agreement before she was hurried out of the room and down the hall. The entire walk there she was just dazed, wondering why he sounded sorry, worried and alarmed at the same time. Her thoughts are shoved away as she tries to focus more on keeping up with the Headmaster, for despite his size he is pretty quick on his feet.Â
------------------
âWell it sure is a good thing there happened to be a means of a stretcher nearby huh?â Rin was laughing casually as she pushed the wheeled stretcher with an unconscious boy riding atop it.
âYeah it sure was fortunate. Iâm glad you picked me out of the crowd but Iâm not sure Iâm able to carry equal weight compared to your strength as a Hunter, Miss Kazashi.â Another boy, walking beside the stretcher and guiding itâs direction with instruction on where to go coming from the pusher herself, gave a small chuckle at his words.Â
âYou donât have to be so formal around me first year.â Saying as she points in a direction they should be turning.
âOh. Are you sure? I mean youâre so well known and all.â Nervously sputtering he turns the stretcher in the direction she pointed to.
âMy infamy has nothing to do with my name, it only deals with my actions. Here in school though Iâm just like everyone else so Iâm ok with casual speaking.â
âWell if itâs ok with you then... Eh... Rin.â
Rin wasnât sure if it was his uneasiness with talking casually to her, or the fact he was blushing, but she couldnât help let out a laugh. It was a nice change of mood from how it felt with the earlier incident with this now sleeping boy on a stretcher. Hopefully Megumi got the Headmaster to wait for them in the Infirmary so she can ask him a few questions about this boy. She noticed that the First year is also looking at him curiously every now and then and tilts his head only to just look away to see where they were going.Â
âThat reminds me First year, I never did get your name did I?â She questioned as she once again pointed in a direction.
âOh I guess you havenât.â He changes their course. âMy name is Trean Eleam.â
âWell itâs nice to have met your acquaintance Mr. Eleam.â
Trean turned pretty quickly at the formality of his name being called and manages to mutter a âwha-?â before Rin starts to giggle out loud at her teasing. She notices the boy blush and quickly turn back around and glance into the distance. She had to admit she really hasnât been all that relaxed like this in years so it felt really good to laugh like that. Of course sheâs still very worried about just who this boy on the stretcher they were pushing was. A new kid in her grade with flowing white hair and what seems to be a single canine hanging out of his mouth just barely. Somehow she managed to miss that detail, but then again it was the dullness of his eyes that had her attention at the time. Itâs like he wasnât even there really, just walking like a robot on automate. Even more what was with the weird loss of sound she felt when his Aura went off? Sheâs never known most Auras to do that to the senses, much less actually have a physical effect on the body.Â
âHey Rin.â She snaps back into focus from her thoughts as Trean speaks out. âIâve been meaning to ask this. Whatâs with the guy weâre escorting to the Infirmary? You kinda keep looking at him as if thereâs something terribly wrong with him.â
She glances at Trean and moves her vision back on the stretcher. âOh Iâm just mulling over things I donât quite understand about the situation. Like the cause of him passing out for one.â A brief pause as she thinks of what else to say without sounding alarmed. âI was right beside him when he collapsed. Dull eyes to where he looked dead, and he just kept walking as if there wasnât a bother in the world. I also... donât think heâs human. Though itâs something Iâd prefer to ask the Headmaster himself because I could be wrong and the boy just has an unusual Aura. If the other Hunters had gotten to him and questioned what he was I donât think heâd be alive right now.â
Trean gulps air down his throat as he looks down at the stretcher. âA demon huh? Yeah some people would get really paranoid if they knew he was a Demon or something and thought he would kill people. Happened not too long ago up in Ibon, where I come from. Iâm glad youâre level headed then, Rin, or itâd be a little bit messy wouldnât it?â They give a nervous laugh to try and release some of the now thick tension in the air, but itâs to no avail as they reach the side entrance to the Infirmary.Â
Like the rest of the building, the Infirmary is about as human in design as a blade of grass, so it looks very similar to the rest of the building in that itâs spacious and has orbs to give off light. The door from the outside is a bit wider than the entrance to the school in case an emergency vehicle needs to come in. Once in, they roll the unconscious one to the nurses desk to request a room for him. The Infirmary is fairly large and is practically itâs own hospital to make up for the amount of students; it even has itâs own doctors and nursing staff to occupy space. Itâs even more necessary as this school teaches Hunters, whom tend to get hurt quite often during their training. The nurse orderly files the needed credentials and leads them to an unoccupied room, then helping get the boy into one of the beds. They gave an explanation of what exactly happened to the nurse and was told he probably just needed to rest for now, so she will check back later. The nurse let them be in the room, with an awkward silence looming about them, as itâs hard for one to know what to say when in a room with an unconscious boy.Â
âOh hello Mr. Headmaster, sir.â The Nurse was audible in the room and brought bother of their heads up to look at the door. âYes they just arrived with him not too long ago and theyâre waiting in the room at the end of the hall. Do try to be quiet, we donât want to wake the boy.â The words she spoke seemed to have a threatening note to them with a tinge of concern, which was probably ignored by the Headmaster as he walked in with a bit of noise. Megumi was right behind him on the way in and a little out of breath it seems from chasing after the Headmaster. He turned to check that the door had closed tightly before continuing into the room.
âRight. Good everyone that should be here is indeed present. Even a new face I might add! Must be a First Year correct? Well itâs a pleasure to meet your acquaintance young lad and may some older student never send you to my office.â He excitedly blabbers with his words carefully looking about the people in the room. Trean turns to Rin with a look of uneasiness  at the manner the Headmaster spoke in.
âWhat... does he mean by that exactly?â
Rin gives an expression of disbelief that he didnât know. âOh. Well I guess seeming that youâre a First Year you didnât know that the Headmaster is a Water Demon.â
âYeah,â Megumi is still trying to catch her breath as she speaks, âand he has this weird way of messing with people about it too. Itâs nice to see you again Trean.â Exasperated, she slowly slumps to the ground. âCrazy old man is far faster than he looks to be.â
The Headmaster chuckles and turns towards Rin, his face becoming sullen. âRin I must say it was very fortuitous that you came across this sleeping lad here when you did and I would like to have a few words about the delicate situation that is at current.â He turns towards the boy sleeping in the bed beside Rin and Trean with a grim look on his face. âIâm sure you have your questions, Rin, as being a Hunter you knew the signs were there better than the other two here, but rest assured these words will answer a few of them.â He pauses as Rin gives him a nod. âTo begin with this here boyâs name is Kutaru Yuutsu, a Demon who is to study at our school at very special and specific circumstances. I believe youâve all had your doubts because he looks, for the most part, like any other Human in the school, but he is of the rarest kind of Demon in the world where there only live to be about 4 or so left. It is not unheard of that the Human Demon isnât very well known in the world anymore as they mostly live secretly amongst Humans. It was actually a personal request from him that he be allowed to study here with the condition that he not be known as a Demon and be seen only as Human.â
âB-but sir! Thereâs already rumors about him spreading around!â Megumi had finally caught her breath to pipe up.
âAs long as the boy doesnât do anything Demon like those rumors will die soon enough, and thatâs where the 3 of you come in. When he wakes up heâll have no memory of who he was and I need you to buffer out who he is. Watch over him if you will and make sure he doesnât break the facade he wanted. If something was to happen to him where he remembers his Demon self, though, I also want you to be sure he remembers who he once was.â
The kids look at him in collected confusion. âWouldnât that defeat the purpose of lying to him and saying heâs Human?â Rin exclaims in a dead tone. âOr is it because itâs not something he personally requested to you Headmaster?â
The man chuckles to himself. âOh itâs just a mere thing of an old friends worry about their well-being Rin. Iâve known this boy for thousands of seasonal passings, which is why I even accepted his request.â The smile fades on his face as he continues. âSure is going to be odd to have to pretend he hasnât been a great friend to me for so long...â His sentence drifting off to create an awkward air.Â
âI wonder why he doesnât want to be a Demon anymore...â Trean broke the silence and snapped Headmaster out of his trance.Â
âThat is a very good question and wouldnât be answered unless the facade breaks. In either case I hope you children keep vigilant.â
âDonât worry sir, weâll be sure to keep up our dutiesâ Saluted Rin with confidence.Â
âExcellent. Thereâs a reason youâre a good Hunter Rin. Right. Now I must be off to make sure you 3 have excuses from homeroom and first class, which is how long I want you to stay in here and watch to see if he wakes from his princess slumber. Iâll mention to the nurse outside that if he wakes, heâs to stay in the room at all costs until you can return, so be sure to check back after classes. Right then. Off I go, do well young ones.â
âS-sure-â The 3 mumbled out as the man left the room in a rush. They were left behind in an awkward silence, unsure of what to say in this situation at all. They waited patiently to see if the boy would wake up from his slumber in silence. Like they thought, there wasnât any sign of him waking up just yet and leave as the bells for second class ring. They go to separate wings of the school, and into separate classes. Rin to the Hunter Wing to continue her training in her arts, Trean to the First Year Wing to learn of what he wants to do with his life, and Megumi to the Tech Wing to pursue a career she doesnât have to interact with many other people with. With that the day continued on.
Here ya are. 2 days worth of writing. Or well 1 and a half days. it's pretty lengthy, just a warning. So here ya are *Edit: If it's too hard to read then here
Chapter 3 Good morning sunshine
The entire time she had been there she was just simply staring at the guy, not even flinching from the commotion around her. âHey. Hey Megumi. You doing alright?â Megumi blinks a few times and suddenly frowns. She turns over to Rin and changes the expression on her face. âH-huh? What was that Rin? I.. uh.. kinda didnât hear you.â âNevermind..that. How about you go and get the headmaster and tell him what just happened.â âThe... headmaster? Why? He passed out, not get knocked over by someone.â âThatâs besides the point. I want to ask him... something...â Rin drifted her sentence off and glanced over at the unconscious boy. âO-oh!... Right, THAT. Alright then Iâll... uh..get him I guess.â Megumi clumsily gets up, careful not to attract to much attention to herself. âOh Megumi! Bring him to the nurses office. Iâll get someone nearby to help me drag the unconscious one there. Mâkay?â Megumi glances back towards the boy with a blank and unreadable expression. Out of everyone in the crowd he looked like he really didnât want to be there, or at least that he looked to be in a hurry, making him a prime choice for help to Rin with everyone else being too curious. âHEY! YOU! FIRST YEAR WITH THE GREEN EYES!â The boy looked around rapidly until he looked at Rin squarely in the eye.  He points at himself as if to make sure he was the one being called for. Rin nods in agreement towards him as he slinks his way to her. âY-yes maâam?â His voice being slightly whispery but polite, âDid you needâŚme?â âYes I do first year, as you can see by what had caused the commotion you got stuck in. If you would be so kind as to help me carry him to the nurses office?â He also looks down at the unconscious boy on the ground in a weird way, but his expression changed rapidly. âSure Iâll help you carry him. If Iâm to be late to class it might as well have been because I helped someone right?â âThat is a very reasonable reason. Alright then you go grab his legs and Iâll get his head mâk?â The first year nods his head in obedience and goes to get the legs, Rin making sure the head is lifted well.
Megumi shakes herself, these were not the thoughts she needed right now. A gust of wind combs playfully through the grass giving Megumi a few goosebumps. Besides the one giant tree in the central area of the campus there isnât much to say about the vegetation. Shrugging to the usual absence of the receptionist Megumi turns left to a door-less hallway right before the stairs. In the same fashion as the Reception the halls have orbs dotting the edges of the floor to give off light. Luckily it was the middle of fall as the only source of any temperature in this building is through the windows. She still doesnât understand demon technology and how they managed to create windows that lets wind through and nothing else. In fact this entire building has always confused her as everything in it seemed to have a mind of itâs own, unlike human technologies that need an outside Aura to activate to do anything automatically or use any power.
It wasnât all too long before Megumi reached the Northern Wing of the school and found the door to the Headmasterâs office. Though as she opened the door to enter sheâs reminded why the term âofficeâ is a plain understatement. In a given sense itâs about 2 stories tall with bookcases lining all the visible walls. It has a simple staircase on the lefthand side and on the right a ladder that goes up above the roof which leads to the Headmasters personal quarters. Of course no student has ever been up there, nor would it be possible as instead of an opening or a trap door there is  a finely woven iron grate. Other than the odd grate at the top of a ladder and the vast amount of books in the place the Headmaster actually has a normal desk in the center of the room. To her ears it didnât give off any other noise, something that she didnât understand the first time she wrang it.
It was only a brief moment of silence before there was the sound of movement above megumiâs head as the Headmaster walked in the direction of the grate. Rin gives an expression of disbelief that he didnât know. âOh. Well I guess seeming that youâre a First Year you didnât know that the Headmaster is a Water Demon.â
âYeah,â Megumi is still trying to catch her breath as she speaks, â and he has this weird way of messing with people about it too. Itâs nice to see you again Trean.â Exasperated she slowly slumps to the ground. âCrazy old man is far faster than he looks to be.â
It was actually a personal request from him that he be allowed to study here with the condition that he not be known as a Demon and be seen only as Human.â
âB-but sir! Thereâs already rumors about him spreading around.â Megumi had finally caught her breath to pipe up.
âAs long as the boy doesnât do anything Demon like those rumors will die soon enough, and thatâs where the 3 of you come in.
Iâve known this boy for thousands of seasonal passings, which is why I even accepted his request.â The smile fades on his face as he continues. âSure is going to be odd to have to pretend he hasnât been a great friend to me for so long...â His sentence drifting off to create an awkward air.
âI wonder why he doesnât want to be a Demon anymore...â Trean broke the silence and snapped Headmaster out of his trance.
âThat is a very good question and wouldnât be answered unless the facade breaks. In either case I hope you children keep vigilant.â
âDonât worry sir, weâll be sure to keep up our dutiesâ Saluted Rin with confidence.
âExcellent. Thereâs a reason youâre a good Hunter Rin. Right. Now I must be off to make sure you 3 have excuses from homeroom and first class, which is how long I want you to stay in here and watch to see if he wakes from his princess slumber. Iâll mention to the nurse outside that if he wakes heâs to stay in the room at all costs until you can return, so be sure to check back after classes. Right then. Off I go, do well young ones.â
âS-sure-â The 3 mumbled out as the man left the room in a rush. They were left behind in an awkward silence, unsure of what to say in this situation at all. They waited patiently to see if the boy would wake up from his slumber in silence. Like they thought there wasnât any sign of him waking up just yet and leave as the bells for second class ring. They go to separate wings of the school, and into separate classes. Rin to the Hunter Wing to continue her training in her arts. Trean to the First Year Wing to learn of what he wants to do with his life. Lastly Megumi to the Tech Wing to pursue a career she doesnât have to interact with many other people with. With that the day continued on.
