#lost area

In a time of change, gas was distributed here. The whole big city was supplied with these machines and the people looked to a better future. Fortunately, this gasworks was simply closed and left that way. Since then it has stood still and empty. I met a group of people who contribute to the preservation of this building. Every now and then you let in interested people. Like me. The machines still work. Everything is calm and quiet, but it's nice to know that you can start again at any time.

Since then, this incredibly beautiful building is empty and moldy.

This is the second part of a series about an abandoned house in the woods. It’s creepy to see that the house must have been left in a hurry. They didn’t take anything with them. There is the food in the kitchen, the papers in the working room, the clothes in the sleeping room. What happened there?

More than 70 years ago, the Nazis built a large ammunition factory at this place. Today there are only a few buildings left, and the city is ashamed of its inglorious past. This old warehouse is still left and is slowly being recovered by nature. It is hard to imagine that once many people have been working in this now quiet forest. Because of the extremely robust construction of the Nazis, it will probably last for a long time....

We stayed there till it was dark and just felt the awesome atmosphere of the huge roof and the silence in this holy place. I’ve never been to a place like this again...
