Day one of Inktober: ‘Fish’.

A lockdown doodle. So, this was drawn out entirely whilst listening to the lockdown podcast sessions of Rob Benedict and Dick Speight Jnr, called ‘...and my guest is Richard Speight’. 

So, not done much mixed media over the years, and never done art journaling. As a freelancer never had the time. But, I’ve throttled right back on that, and am no longer selling original art (though still selling ceramic work), and have decided to do some different stuff. I bought a watercolour sketchbook to experiment with. Also doing more black and white line work, more on that to come. . . . 

Hand lettering doodle. Free drawn, as in, too lazy to actually plan it out. Inspired by my daughter the other day when I was struggling to formulate a coherent sentence, this is what she said to me. Cheeky mare, but funny. . . .

#TBT to Feb 2012. I’m not sure why I I wrote ‘Now Voyager’ in the corner. This is a film that was loved by my Grandmother, and stars Bette Davis. It’s about a woman suffering from mental illness and bullied by a domineering Mother who finds love, but that is not the story. Anyway, I think I drew this for my daughter who was 7 at the time. The little sketch book was handmade by @helensmithartist and the doodle is on texture paper. • Happy Valentines Day everyone ❤️🌹 . . .
