YOUR OC IN AWKWARD SITUATION;

"Captain? You said you needed to see me?" Lorraine cautiously made her way into Harvey's ready room, the area decorated warmly which matched the man's personality. Despite having a relatively good relationship with the captain, Lorraine always worried that something bad had happened.

"Yes, thank you for coming." Harvey sat at his chair behind the desk, gesturing to the one in front of him. When Lorraine sat down, he spoke again. "You've done nothing wrong, but I do have a few questions."

Oh, thank God. She was worried about that. "Of course, anything you want to know, Captain."

The man looked unsure about how to continue with the conversation, as he spoke like he was walking on egg shells, or as if someone may be there listening. "So, you and Q..."

Lorraine immediately felt her face heat up with embarrassment, and she quickly knew what Harvey was talking about. "It's nothing! There's nothing going on between us!"

"Lorraine, I don't judge." Harvey insisted.

"No, I promise!" The poor trill kept trying to ensure her point was coming across. "There's nothing going on! I- I'm not like that!"

"Well, there's nothing wrong with it if you were." The captain replied, his support being horribly misplaced.

"With all due respect sir, you're seriously misunderstanding."

Thankfully Harvey didn't seem offended. "So there's nothing I need to be worried about?"

"Not at all," Lorraine sighed. "I don't have that need- I don't want any relationship with anyone regardless of their gender. I'm thankful you're so supportive, but it's really not that type of situation."

"Oh!" Obviously it had clicked with the captain, and now it was his turn to be embarrassed. "I'm sorry for reading the room wrong! I'm just trying to make sure everyone knows they're allowed to be themselves here."

"I understand, sir."

"Good!" Harvey smiled, straightening his back to seem more professional and as if this mess of a conversation hadn't happened. "You're relieved, now. Thank you. Sorry."

"It's much alright, Captain." Lorraine was glad she could leave now, as he was suffering from how awkward this had been. She was happy Harvey was just trying to make sure she was comfortable, but it still had landed completely on its face.
