I choose Sherlock, because Doctor Who is too far gone. First of all, the Christmas special gets publicly and 100% nixed as a dream sequence. Season four: Mary branches out as AGRA and continues Moriarty’s work when John finds out that their child isn’t his. There is homoerotic subtext, but it’s not in joke format. They still don’t get together, and they never really do. Equal screen time for Molly, Mary, Irene, and Mrs. Hudson. Perhaps a case for Molly (something involving her, but she doesn’t work the case) and she gets the majority of that episode. Maybe Irene teams up with Mary. John stops announcing that he Isn’t Gay; not because he’s gay, but because it’s fucking stupid and not a thing he needs to do? That’s about it. Take it back. Take it back to the cases, the small and human interactions, the suspense and the twists. No more dicking around trying to appeal to the fandom.
