The little human girl held out wildflower to the pretty elf lady who made the big mean Troll go away. When the lady did nothing, Aurora placed the flower in the woman's sunny hair and felt proud of herself. "Pretty flower for pretty lady!" The girl said happily as the ranger carried the human child as she had twisted her ankle as she tired to run from the meany Troll
The girl should not have been out here.
Not that it wasn’t common for humans to visit Quel’thalas, no. Sylvanas had seen them before, her pupil was one. But a child?
The woods weren’t safe, not now, notyet. Though there was definitely a decline of trolls in the area, Sylvanas would never had cleared it for civilian travel without escort. The enemy’s guerilla tactics were tiresome, it made a war that should have been over, drag on for months.
It wasn’t luck Sylvanas found her. The girl left more tracks than a wounded dragonhawk. Twigs snapped, grass trampled, the scuffs of small shoes in the dirt.
It was luck, however, that Sylvanas had found the little human in time. As she had heard the yelp, the thump of something falling, and had stepped out from behind a tree in time to see a troll.
Axe in hand, eyes fixed on the girl.
The troll didn’t die there, no. It pivoted, fleeing back into the woods.
Vereesa leapt into the view a second later, looking to her sister.
“Which way?” She questioned after a second’s hesitation, opting for Thalassian in the presence of the human.
“South, through the brush. Do it quickly, Vereesa. And quietly.”
Vereesa slipped away, leaving Sylvanas with the child.
Sylvanas wasn’t good with children.
Well, in actuality she had precious little experience with children. Especially human children.
But she was hurt, sprained ankle, most likely. Sylvanas quirked a brow at the little girl’s words, slinging her bow, then picked her up.
She’d chastise the parents for being so damn careless.
Sylvanas froze when the girl pushed a flower into her hair, looking at her kindly.
“Thank you,” Sylvanas stated, somewhat stiffly. Carrying her, Sylvanas began her way back towards road. She paused when they were under a blossom tree. Reaching up, she plucked one of the pink lilies from the low hanging branch, and tucked it behind the girl’s ear.
“As you said,” Sylvanas smiled, continuing on her way. “A pretty flower, for a pretty lady.”
