Its considerably bad for someones health for Toby to take their shadow, to rip it from someone can either fling the person physically or result in sudden and violent death akin to a major car crash or jumping from a great height. Having her 'borrow' a shadow can pose symptoms to the original host like a very bad flu at best, with symptoms getting worse as time passes. If a person stays in a darkened room and rests the symptoms tend to plateau in those of already robust health. Severe chills, dangerously low body temperature, locking/cramping muscles, inability to take in food or fluids, insomnia, headaches, even seizures and coma. There is some evidence of premature aging but this has not been fully tested and explored.
