Red: Me? You wanna know? Alright, come with me. Lemme show ya something. Down these stairs, at the base of the Lighthouse, there’s this well. You see there are several of these in the mindscape. These wells glow because they are full of liquid magic. This goes to the soul.

Red: This should be a symbol of our power. Instead, we have this. See this gold chain? See them all around and in the well? They go down to the soul too. These are from that damn demon. These are the chains of the contract.

Red:…Before the blood, Eldred would come down here to pull and pull at these. Cursin’ and fightin’ like he could free us from the contract on stubborn will alone. He never accepted that defeat from the Devil. He wanted to fight him again. When we ended up at Hat’s he hatched a plan. Use Hat to train. The day we’re ready to fight the Devil, we kill Hat and rebel. If we couldn’t kill Hat easily, we weren’t ready. He was also workin’ with Armstead to try and find our stolen Supers and charms.

Red: After Hat poisoned us and the Devil saved us…whatever that monster did changed Eldred. Like a parasite, it ate away at him. He became more dangerous but he also got stronger. The last time he attacked these chains, he broke one. Then we had to lock him up. He’s not just dangerous to people around Cuphead, he’s dangerous to us. To himself. He just wants to hurt. Everything.

Red: So ya want my opinion? I’m conflicted. He’s the strongest of us. Maybe he can break out of the Devil’s control but at what cussin’ price? Would it even be ‘saving’ us at that point or just a new hell? And if I forget these chains and Eldred’s old plans, if I just want to save him. Is that possible? Is there any damn way to bring the old Eldred back? Hell if I know.

Red: it feels like the others have given up on him. It ticks me off since he wouldn’t have given up on them. And if we are in a cussin’ corner with no choice, I have no problem lettin’ him out to ‘play’. Whether it’s to live to see another day or go down fightin’ I don’t plan ta just roll over and die. That’s not what Eldred would want and after all this stupid stardust and all the people I’ve killed, I’m not just gonna give up.

Sesame Street side:

They know that they're puppets and they always knew that they were in a kid's show and they have no problem with that

The Muppets side:

They know that they're puppets but don't know that they were in a kid's show, but they can interact with humans perfectly

DHMIS side:

The rest of the gang don't know that they're puppets and are in a show, except for Harry (vaguely) and Doi (yellow guy), but Doi is like more aware of that than Harry (red guy) and Robin (duck guy), also, Doi is the only one that knows who's Leslie

Welcome Home side:

I don't know where it is, but I don't think it means well.
