#lore revamp

Go (left) and Ku (right), the two Fire mage sisters! I’m still not sure on what i want their clothes to be like but I wanted to draw them.

Their insides glow bright with fire that burned their skin and feathers dark, but movement cracks their skin so it shows through. In the dark, they glow softly. They’re identical twins, but Go has the habit of rubbing her eyes when she’s tired, and Ku is more sociable so has more smile lines and cracks by her mouth.

Two of the Clan’s youngest, but not to be underestimated. It’s thought they were born for a purpose, but the two of them seem in the dark about what they’re being used for. They’ve been trained diligently in magic from a young age, but now they’ve moved from their Birth Clan and can relax more, they’ve begun to show a more childish side. They both admire Clan Leader Lyune, who seems to have a soft spot for them, despite her aversion to fire.

Just some preliminary sketches of my new clan leader Lyune while I start figuring out how I wanna draw her, and also how to draw dragon anthros in general since I haven’t made furry art since I was like 16

Okay so I have obtained my two new Clan Leaders for my new lore!

The Banescale is unnamed currently until I can find something I like for her, but for now she’ll be A1 since that’s what her picture is saved as in my laptop lmao. She’s more of a shadow-leader as most of the clan don’t know she exists, and is kept hidden away.

Over the ages the clan has found ways to circumvent the limitations of the land and devise an entirely new school of magic there. 

However, there have always been competing families, houses, and factions vying for control. Therefore, magic spells typically were not shared. Magic spells have become so closely hoarded that almost all of them have been developed in such a way that only members of the creating house can cast them. Even if a rival house were to find the spell design, it would require an impossible amount of reverse engineering to use. 

I’ve slept on it and I guess I’ve settled in with the fact that I’m ready to do something fresh with the lore. It’s just too bad I totally rebuilt my lair post-colorwheel before I came to this conclusion but what can ya do.

-just about any dragon I’m not keeping that still has a lot of lore ties (lore parents mostly) will be tucked in the end of the lair kinda for archival purposes. they’ll remain there as long as they’re somewhat relevant. 

-As far as clan lore goes, Zeb and Pavora just continue this little cold war on to eternity. Everything there kinda hangs in limbo. Buuut it’s all still available for lore kids in other clans to reference and use as they please.

-There might be some alternate universe shenanigans or just some bizarre happenings just to better integrate some of the keepers into the new lore. I want to keep those characters buuut in some cases, it’d be troublesome to write around reasons for some of them to relocate. A few dragons will have vague memories of the old lore and just find themselves in the new clan without knowing why they’re there.
