Ouma is a fantastically layered character in that he’s this childish trickster, certainly, but he’s surprisingly wise, worldly, patient and kind. It’s the ultimate deception which I find most fascinating about him; since you don’t get to fully see that side of him through Shuichi’s lens, you have to infer it through others. Such as, the people who actually worked with Ouma, and saw his truest self.
Like how rumours of a person can completely distort the reality of who they are, taking minimal information - while making assumptions on the surface of the matter - is a true dealbreaker when it comes to really understanding them.
