She pressed the book to her chest, avoiding any eye contact with him until he had the sheer audacity to talk even more so. āI live here now,ā she said curtly. āIāve been fairing just fine.ā
Ceara took in the sight of him and her chest ached, despite how easily she felt the awkwardness between them. āYou seem to be doing well also, Lord OāConnor,ā she noted formally.
