Fresh from their win at the Stu Sells Toronto Tankard, reigning Olympic & World Champs aka best curling team in the world @teamniklasedin are back on the ice for the first GSOC event of the season. My YareTV subscription pass has been renewed and I can’t wait until coverage starts to hopefully get a glimpse of my #Icevengers in action. Looking at the draw schedule & past history would suggest the earliest I will see my Swedes will be Saturday in the QF so as usual, Team Edin need to make sure they make it to the playoffs. 🙏🤞 . . Despite the exponential growth of my love for the Germans, we all know I still love Team Edin the most. The past quad was a roller coaster ride capped off w/ Olympic gold & Worlds gold that I got to see in person. I wish I could go to Canada and watch Team Edin end the GSOC drought in person, but since international travel is not possible any time soon for me, I will continue to cheer from afar & send positive game winning vibes virtually. It’s the beginning of the season and the start of the new quad, but things are already sounding so familiar. It’s like deja vu from the 2018 Olympics where media reported on Team Edin’s financial woes. Sadly, my Swedes aren’t off to a good start - they lost their first game vs Team Thompson by 1 point (7-8). My Swedes play against Team Fournier next (B Road). Here’s hoping they get all the way to the final and win. But we all know the best way to rack up prize money is to win a GSOC event, which my Swedes have historically struggled to do since I became a fan.
