Should that cause us to have resentment towards them or vice versa? No, it does not! Resentment “eats” at the heart and can cause us to live opposite to what our Heavenly Father expects of us or causes us to miss our blessings. Why let resentment cause you to miss the abundant blessings from Heaven? 'But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too. But if you refuse to forgive, your Father in heaven will not forgive your sins.' St. Mark 11:25. No matter how someone treats you or makes you feel, ask God to allow you to show them the love he commanded us to give. Ask God to open your heart so that resentment would not reside there. Ask God to expose any hidden resentment that maybe there that you are overlooking. Don’t let resentment be an obstacle in your way from fulfilling the purpose God has placed in your heart. It may not be easy to forgive someone for the wrong they may have done to you but it is required by God that we do so. We have to remember that we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God but He is willing and able to forgive us of our sins. So why should it be difficult for us to forgive others when our Heavenly Father does not hesitate to forgive us? In this world that we are living in, we will all face circumstances where we feel like the world and everyone is against us. We may not comprehend how He gives us the peace that we long for but once we are accepting, the peace that God gives can surpass anything this world has to offer. Repentance is when we have guilt or remorse against the things we do that are not pleasing to God. When guilt sets in our hearts, we should feel uneasy and uncomfortable to the point of being restless. We should be longing for peace once guilt resides in our hearts. Receiving God’s peace to replace the guilt and remorse we are feeling is to first ask for repentance. With repentance comes peace. We can rest assured that once we repent, the peace of God gives us comfort in knowing that if today is our last day on earth, we will have a seat on His right hand while He sits on His throne. The funny thing is that it may even be easier to forgive others than it is to forgive me. We can be our toughest critiques at times and when we look back at the things we have done in the past, to us they may deem unforgivable. Sorrows Lead To Repentance. #LordIRepent #GodForgives #ExpressionOfFaith2020 We often face trials and tribulations in life and sometimes we may wonder, what have I done to deserve this? Not every trial we face is from the enemy. Some trials are from Our Heavenly Father that teaches us to turn away from sin and repent. For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death. 2 Corinthians 7:10 NLT If we are to bask in the sorrows of this world, it kills us spiritually which is the reason many persons regress from the life God has instructed us to live. Going through trials and sorrows is not easy but God is teaching us to place our sorrows before Him. When we do that, He will show us the ways that are not pleasing to Him and causes us to repent. When we do this, there is no regret as He gives us a clean slate and washes us from our sins whiter than snow. Once we repent, we should forsake our sins and do them no more. To accomplish this, we have to build a personal relationship with Our Heavenly Father because only He alone can give us the grace and mercy to go on. People are now looking for a prophetic word of fame, fortune, and good tidings. The word of repentance is not stressed as it should be by the leaders, pastors, prophets of the churches. 'But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself. For a day of anger is coming, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. ' Romans 2:5 NLT. Sin has become the norm in our world today where right is wrong and wrong is right. We as believers are forced to accept wrong as the norm or be persecuted or punished for our beliefs.
