The smile that stretched across his face couldn’t be helped, as Loras so affectionately curled up against him. Responding in kind, Ellery tilted his head down to lay a kiss upon the other’s forehead, one hand coming up to stroke through those familiar curls.

His shoulders tensed further, as he desperately tried to shuffle back into the furthest corner of the room, though the heavy cuffs on his wrists and ankles kept him in place. “That’s crazy! Who in Seven Hells does this to show their love?!” Strangely enough, one of the foremost thoughts in Ellery’s mind right now, was how Loras managed to gain access to the palace dungeons and the equipment now holding him.

Pressing more firmly still onto the steadily leaking wound, Ellery shook his head, biting his lip in an effort to keep himself together. “I know it hurts- but you’ll be alright, you’ll get better, I’m making sure of it.” It had all come out of nowhere. No one had ever expected another swordsman to get the better of Loras, though in all fairness this was easier to predict when one opponent had neither armour nor a weapon with him.

His expression remained cold and unfeeling, perhaps even closer to being utterly blank than anything else. The boy cocked his head slightly, as though Loras’ pleas and struggling somehow fascinated him, and as he spoke his voice was unnervingly calm. “But..if I let you go, we can’t play anymore.”

"My darling, my most precious one, you’ve given me everything. If I were ever fortunate enough to meet the gods while I still live, I would have so much to thank them for, so much to repay to them. An ecstatic grin upon his face, Ellery brought the toy out from behind his back. It was a rather crudely-made baby blue rabbit, complete with lighter pink inner ears and paw pads. “Do you like it? I made it myself-” His gaze dropped to the floor now, a little embarrassed by the result of his efforts.
