I realized I never actually made a list of my headcannons for Doffy so I figured I'd post them here while I'm on hiatus.

1) Doflamingo really did love Law

(platonically though this is where much of my DofLaw HC spreads from) that's why Doffy gave Law so many chances in Dressrosa.

Doffy could have easily killed Law when he wanted and found the fruit again, he had connections. Also if he truly wanted to cut his losses it would have been more logical to kill him. Doffy's weakness is his loyalty. It shows with his loyalty to Trebol even after Trebol's massive miscalculation with the situation that took place below the island.

I believe Doffy wanted Law to come back to him. As a child, before Corazon kidnapped him, Law loved Doffy. I feel Law was the first person Doffy felt a strong connection with since he was a child himself. Don't get me wrong, Doffy loves his family, but Law was a little different. Doffy was also a collector of the broken and castaways so it makes sense that Law would stand out as he was the biggest outcast.

2) Doflamingo hates barbecue or specifically the smell of burning or burnt not only because if his childhood but because of his brother

I'd imagine Doffy was very disheartened by having to carryout the nasty business of killing his brother but did what was needed to protect his family. Just like the other horrors that haunt him in his sleep, the death of his brother and his brother's betrayal just piled on more nightmares. The smell of smoke just brings back too many painful memories.

3) Doflamingo dislikes sugary sweet foods

I'd imagine not having many sweets rooting through garbage as a child, he never retained a fondness for sweet foods. But he does have a fondness for fruits, especially tropical and citrus fruits. Those are his candy.

4) Doflamingo is both introverted and extroverted

I noticed that though much of the time Doflamingo is able to interact without issue he does spend much of his time alone, even from his family. I'd imagine that Doffy has a disdain for people so much that he can only spend a limited amount of time with them before he gets overstimulated, and like a cat he gets a bit pissy the longer he's around them.
