(maybe a little premature to post this, as i am once again stopping in the middle of a marius card and also haven't read the other relevant bday cards besides vyn's)
i would have described the Theme for the 5th birthday cards as the stumbles the LIs made during the early stage of their career. so it's FASCINATING to me that marius's story focuses on his art instead of something to do with Pax. this from someone who has affirmed time and time again that he would choose Pax over his art if he were forced to.
it could also be that art is the area where he had more of a true mentor, and that's a specific thing the writers wanted to have in this set (would need to see if it's true for luke & artem); and maybe it's been a while since they could focus on his artistic side, especially in birthdays cards. but regardless. will have to keep these implications in mind.
hiya name's dimity i stitch pretty things and it's a grand time. i don't do commissions or owt so don't bother asking i just create what i feel like k cheers bye bye xx
Here is my late submission to mer-may!
This is shrimp-mary from @fattyskeleton (aka bubblebtch on ao3)’s belief and strings series! Highly recommend!
Anyways here’s our sad wet meow meow Mary!
Look, I enjoyed The Fall of the House of Usher way more than I expected (I am not a horror afficionado or good at jump scares, holy hells) but ultimately I have Some Questions:
What happened to Annabelle Lee? We know they divorced, we know he lured the kids away from her with money, and THEN WHAT??? How is she dead and why does she look so young, when did she die, was this spelled out and I missed it somehow??
What is the source of Victorine and Camille's beef with each other? (I mean SERIOUSLY why is this thread dangled and then we never get the backstory, I'm so)
How did insanely-genius-smart Madeline imagine for more than a second that killing [censored] was going to make a whit of difference in how the end played out??? This decision was shocking and fun in the moment but makes absolutely no sense in retrospect given that "take a bow together" was already actively stretched two weeks+. WHY? HOW. COULD SHE POSSIBLY THINK THIS WOULD WORK. (Maybe she didn't and was just trying everything, flailing for options, but--pretty desperate ploy, if so. Really?)
Did I miss something or ??

Loose Threads Dangle in Bright, Bold Gradients in HOTTEA’s Kaleidoscopic Installations
Suspended from gallery ceilings or strung across an open courtyard, innumerable lengths of yarn comprise the chromatic installations by artist Eric Rieger, aka HOTTEA (previously). He arranges the soft textiles in concentric circles or wide gradients that stretch from wall to wall, creating vibrant fields of color that shift in composition depending on the perspective

Impromptu tutorial that nobody asked for! Yay!
I noticed earlier that my scorbunny had a loose thread in his embroidery! So I did some eye surgery to fix it. Instead of just trimming the thread, I used a needle to pull it back in. It looks neater than trimming, and if the thread could possibly unravel further, pulling it in will prevent that. C:
In order to pull in a loose thread, it takes just a few simple steps!
To illustrate the steps, I gave scorbunny a fake "loose thread" in a visible color. This method works the same way no matter where the thread is!
First, thread a needle with a loop of thread.
Insert the needle into the fabric as close as you can to the loose thread. Then push the needle partially through so the eye is close to the fabric and the point has come out through the fabric a little bit away from the entry point.
Put the thread loop over the loose thread, and use the other end of the looped thread to pull the thread through the eye of the needle.
Then, pull the needle out! The thread will disappear into the plush and you won't be able to see it anymore :) If you did this method on an embroidered part of a plush, you can use a toothpick to apply a tiny, TINY dot of super glue or fabric glue where the thread was, to keep it from coming back out. On longer loose threads this isn't necessary, but if the thread was smaller it's not a bad idea! But be really careful doing it though, getting super glue on fabric where you don't want it really sucks 💔
