Headcanon I've talked about briefly is that Augusta Longbottom's birth given name is Agata Gim, and her families initially from Korea. Agata means "graceful, beautiful, blossom" (kind of, the individual parts of "a", "ga" and "ta" mean those things), and Gim means "gold or lustrous metal" and is a version of Kim, spelt more similarly to the actual pronunciation (I believe, could be wrong), and I thought these names suited her. I personally like the idea that maybe she's super harsh on Frank and Neville because she comes from an immigrant family and she wants to make sure they don't lose any respect in Britain, self-colonisation as a trauma response if you will (only way I can think to describe it, there's probably a better term out there).
Meanwhile Lothaire Longbottom's (Lothaire means "famed warrior") family was originally Chinese, with the surname just being Long, but it was changed to Longbottom generations ago so that they could fit in more with the British elites. He understands there's nothing they can do to change how they're viewed, so he's accepted that he doesn't need to fit into their rigid rules. He used to tend to the gardens and greenhouses before he died, and Augusta didn't know how to and while Frank liked bugs he wasn't good with plants, so they slowly withered away until Neville started taking an interest in Herbology. I like to think Neville turned out a lot like Lothaire.
