Longstreet (1971-72)
THE FINAL SALUTE TO ROBERT DUVALL. Salute
i am watching LONGSTREET (james franciscus reasons) on youtube (not available anywhere else) and he has this all white outfit (white jeans white denim jacket) that he wears so often (sexy) and then his other outfits are like: an all yellow outfit, the cutest polo shirts you’ve ever seen, tight khakis, camp shirts unbuttoned to sternum, sweatshirts with the sleeves cut off, sneakers 90% of the time, and then three piece suits and ties with giant knots
the 70s were such a special time for dreamy men in sexy little outfits

The 5th of November, 1863, Confederate General Longstreet’s soldiers loaded onto railcars. Horses, artillery, and wagon trains traveled separately on the dirt road to Sweetwater, a fertile region in East Tennessee. The railroad desperately needed maintenance. Longstreet’s mission was to block Union General Burnside’s movement, but the laughable, inefficient condition of the railway conspired against him. The track ascended steep grades, but the engines were light-powered. To climb a hill the soldiers left the train like ants pouring out of a nest, trudged upward, and joined the train again at the top. It took eight days for Longstreet’s men to travel sixty miles. On arrival supplies were not waiting, and the men already existed on short rations.

“Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves. Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.” ―Bruce LeeÂ
