oh god, oh fuck, I hadn’t properly thought of Billy when I made the AU.
So it’d be hilarious if Marvel’s rogues are like “yeah track down Cap’s civilian ID! Wait why does it say he’s an 11 year old homeless kid, refresh the page!” and just straight up don’t believe in it (which conveniently gives the JLA enough time to find Billy and get him somewhere safe).
However, Cap finds he has a much harder time being a hero. It would probably be one of the major complaints lodged against the League by governments in the aftermath. It’s bad either way “yes we knowingly let a child be homeless and fight crime” or “no your Honor we had no idea one of our own was actually a baby”. He’d probably be put on leave from the JLA while they sorted out the legal stuff meanwhile Billy is screaming that he’s NOT a kid when he’s Marvel. He’d still be out there doing his hero thing in Fawcett but a lot of the citizens wouldn’t trust him anymore. It would well and truly suck for him.
