Yesterday, my art collective group was contacted by an executive of V Magazine to bring our installation piece into the studio. Once we were there, the editors, art directors and curators reviewed our project. They were amazed that students had created it, and seemed very enthusiastic about the installation. As they looked at it, they would call over to their colleagues "Look, Parsons students made this!" inviting more people to interact with it. They requested to keep it for another day to reach a final decision, and will be contacting us soon with the official answer to our proposal. The sheer impact of this didn't really hit me until we had walked out of the office, where we looked at one another and asked, stunned, "Did that just happen?" Even if this doesn't go through, just the fact that we were able to bring our artwork to a major internationally-renowned office and have it viewed AND COMPLIMENTED by the art directors and curators was unbelievable.  I'm so, so ridiculously thankful for this opportunity. AND THEN- earlier this week, it was determined that I would have tea with one of my old professors to discuss potentially working as her sculptural assistant. This professor is extremely talented and has heavily influenced my work, and working under her would be an absolute dream. I can't believe that this is all happening.
