ok now i have a followup question, specifically: xenomorphs take on some characteristics of their hosts - you mentioned coloration, but would they also get more elaborate crests from the asari? (sidenote it is somehow only now occurring to me that a biotic xeno could exist and would be terrifying.) BUT IN ADDITION, asari children also take on traits of the donor species while still mostly resembling asari. so... what would happen if an asari had a daughter with a xenomorph? what would she look like?? would the mother survive?
ANOTHER SENSATIONAL QUESTION!! i have conferred with the xenomorph coalition and have answers.
firstly: the reaper emperor is a biotic. all xenomorphs are born from the reaper emperor's black tar. thus all xenomorphs have latent biotic abilities. i'd like to think they use them to some degree, but nothing huge. little things like moving objects away from them, bringing nymphs closer to them, enhancing their frequencies and songs. some of them use their biotics during the hunt, but only to play with their victims, their toys.
i also think they also use biotics to enhance their influence and frequencies when they choose to eggmorph a favorite toy. because i like to envision the process has not just xenomorphs producing a special resin and saliva with enzymes and hormones that enable them to take control of the person's shape, but their frequencies, their songs, the influence over the person's mind is an important element. for their favorites, they want to keep playing with them, keep them safe, hunt them whenever they please, enjoy them whenever they please. they want to keep parts of their identity, while making them realize how much they need them, how joyous it is to be loved and consumed and hunted by perfect beings. it is their version of indoctrination, learned from their mother.
but one of these days there's going to be a generation of xenomorphs with like subject zero/jack level of biotic abilities. that's really the next step in their development.
secondly: yessssss, xenomorphs born from asari have more elaborate crests and even slightly different colorations depending on the host. most xenomorphs take on some of the characteristics of their hosts be it coloration, markings, or crest design. i've always loved the crest that praetorian xenomorphs have, i'd like to imagine that's what most xenomorphs born from asari have. there is a hive on thessia and i'd like to imagine that queen's crest has an even more elaborate design. (yoinking the alpha's design to use it for the thessia queen xenomorph who was born from an asari matriarch.)
as of right now in the canon there are really two distinct categories of xenomorphs.
xenomorphs - xenomorphs born purely of the reaper emperor's material all have the standard xenomorph design, but they also exhibit the most diversity in the variations. they take on some different colorations based on their hosts or from the reaper emperor's influence. their design is also fairly standard with some notable exceptions like the scorched xenomorph (the eldest drone, possibly born inside a reaper, hence her more mechanical design), xenomorphs born from asari (more elaborate crests and slight blue-violet tone in their colorations). variations in design in color are also determined by which queen they are born from. there are seven original queens: sarah, miriam, deborah, hannah, abigail, huldah, and esther. and the queens from them also take on similar characteristics. i'll be introducing a new queen later on, zipporah, the queen of margot's hive. margot has a very unique chest pattern that's different from other xenomorphs, similar to that of the inside of a spider's molt, which would come from her queen-sister. and there are many more queens all over the milky way galaxy, each of them served by the rachni. (the reaper emperor hasn't allowed them to form hives in andromeda yet.)
celestial xenomorphs - xenomorphs born from a union of the reaper emperor and nyx's materials. there's very little diversity or variation in their shape no matter what host they are born from. these xenomorphs are typically of a violet-black coloration, the ridges of their biomechanical shape are gold, and within them are portions of the ultra deep field. the reaper emperor provided the template for her wife to shape them to be the perfect daughters, daughters that will bring her joy. every one of them is a reflection of the love between the reaper emperor and nyx. they are also nyx's way of archiving parts of the universe. there is one main queen: nycteĂŻs, the true first daughter of night and extinction. the pleiades are seven queens that serve the nycteĂŻs, they are: maia, electra, taygete, alcyone, celaeno, sterope, and merope. there are three more queens, the hesperides, that produce a caste of especially hostile xenomorphs that help protect the ziggurat, they are: aegle, erytheia, and asterope.
thirdly: while we know that all asari children become asari regardless of the donor species, but i think that with a xenomorph, the child will always be a xenomorph. and the mother would not survive, because hosts/vessels are not meant to survive, their purpose is to provide the ideal environments for embryos to grow and development until it is time for them to enter the world. and all viable organic life is meant to become hosts/vessels to bring forth more of the reaper emperor's daughter. it would destroy the host/vessel's body and mind.
importantly, i think the dominance of the xenomorph's genetics and strength over an asari's is the black tar, the material of the reaper emperor. it is the material of extinction itself, it is potent and it is dangerous. it is her genetics, it is her thoughts, it is her blood, it is her dreams. the black tar changed the golden ichor of nyx, consummating their eternal union and love. the black tar was used by david to wipe out the engineers and transform their world into one that is beautiful but devoid of life. a drop of the black tar can destroy entire planets. it is annihilation, every molecule the building blocks of an extinction event.
and it is also laced with azathoth's sound and shai-hulud's spice, the elder siblings of extinction intertwined and connected to her in an endless feedback loop.
and the more i think about this, the more i think about liara possibly wanting to go through with this when she feels her time is done. melding with a xenomorph at the matriarch stage would not be difficult, asari can technically have children at any stage. (in mass effect 3, liara says she's only 106. the asari matriarch stage typically begins when they're 700 years old. so benezia could have been at the end of the matron stage when she had liara, but it's implied that benezia is very old and very renowned matriarch in mass effect 1.)
liara has given everything to serve the reaper emperor. she is one of the last remaining people who remembers her as the shepard, commander shepard, the emperor-as-shepard. she would not mind being being chosen by both the reaper emperor and nyx as a vessel for a rare celestial xenomorph with her coloration, so she can always be with them in every universe, in every eternity. literally made to be filled with stars.
To go a bit more into Lonepowerâs previous question, i figured iâd make a long (sorry ahead of time!) post with some examples (a good bit of these are test shots).
Just for a little backstory, i spent a few months in early 2021 trying to put together the most complete screenshotting tool set i've ever had for a game, because if any game deserved that, it's Botw. Using a combination of injectors (cam mods, Reshade, cheat engine), the highest graphical settings i could enable, and with a ton of game mods on top of that, i set off to start testing everything and then after weeks of that, finally started actually taking screenshots. I made it to the Lost Woods, and then real life got in the way and i had to put it aside. During this time, a hardrive died with a lot of the testing/tools/shots on it and then when i tried to start getting back into it with what i did have, a lot of things didn't work anymore since i updated Cemu (Wii U emulator) and Bcml (Botw modding program). *cries in Hylian*

every single time you come out with a post that's like "I'm just musing" and it's the hottest take I've ever seen (also your thoughts on jin being dead are objectively correct)
fhgshgkshfgh thank you.
I appreciate the game's ambiguity about it because it's much more fun that way, but also, it has to be said: that man was DEAD dead, and the game is full of graveyards. the reason Jin survives being shot and being stabbed and falling off a bridge and being poisoned (twice) and being shipwrecked and risking his life during every waking moment is because you can't kill something that's already been dead. :) Inari's special boy. đŚ
and I'm genuinely baffled by all of these reviewers who are like "the expansion is the first time that Ghost of Tsushima has featured anything supernatural outside of Legends," like no? that's objectively false? I understand that the game is coy about it most of the time (like the leaves swirling around Jin when he more or less comes back from the dead), but you are LITERALLY guided by the wind and some birds that are implied to be connected to Jin's dead parents, and you can LITERALLY change the weather with music. people being wrong about video games doesnât matter but it sure does make my eye twitch.
hello Your Majesty! I looked through your masterlist of links and didn't find it, and no amount of google can give me a satisfactory answer, so: do you know the Middle Egyptian word(s) for the Middle Egyptian language? I've seen mdw nᚯr for the alphabet, but never a word that refers to the spoken language itself. it seems odd that it's so hard to find, so maybe I'm just not searching right? thanks for your time (and great Egyptology sources)!
Thanks for being patient about this ask!
Itâs not really your Google skills at fault here, but rather your assumption that the Egyptians did have a specific term to refer to their language(s), which they didnât. Certainly not anything as specific as âthis is Middle Egyptian (as opposed to Late Egyptian)â.
Instead, they called the words they spoke to each other âspeechâ (ra). Any foreign language was referred to as ab-ab, or âbabblingâ, because the Egyptians were quite frankly massively xenophobic twats.Â
Though there are two terms that come sort of close to what youâre asking after:
While the first one is included in the WĂśrterbuch, there is no textual attestation of it. mdw.t-km.t literally translated is âwords (of) Egyptâ.
The second one comes from the Tale of Sinuhe, and it is not spoken by an Egyptian, but rather by a foreigner. Itâs therefore not a specific name that the Egyptians had for their own language, but a way a non-Egyptian refers to the Egyptian speech. ra-n-km.t literally translated is âspeech of Egyptâ.
But in essence, neither of these are a purely Egyptian name for the (Middle) Egyptian language that they used to refer to it all the time.Â

@lonepower âpffff as if Iâm that much more versed on lore lmao OUR CITY NOW........â
tbh I havenât come up with a satisfying way to conclude that yet oops After what they pulled, thereâs no way Hermaeus Mora is going to just leave it be. Heâs going to be a thorn in their sides for the rest of their lives. Nothing they canât handle, of courseâ they already beat the odds by escaping with their free will and their sanity intact, but itâs hard to sleep peacefully at night knowing a Daedric prince has it out for you.
Rowan does introduce him to the dragonsâ Miraak definitely butts heads with Paarthurnax based on their ideals alone. As for the rest of them I think Miraak would try to assert himself over them as an authority figure and they would just⌠Not Be Having It, lmao. They answer to Rowan, not to him.
Afterwards? I meant to mention this last post but Miraak asks Rowan to help him hunt down the remaining dragon priests in Skyrim and Solstheim, putting an end to what remains of the old Dragon Cult (and thus giving him a lot of closure.) Then? I think theyâd travel a while. Maybe get roped into a war or something (as leader of the Blades and over the dragons I think Rowan is too powerful not to get pulled into some political BS eventually lmao). Eventually theyâll return to Skyrimâ their homeâ and raise a family together.
Another headcanon of mine is that Dragonborn live longer than your average human/mer alreadyâ and that lifespan is only extended as they absorb more dragon souls, so⌠they have a long life ahead of them.
Ghhh we really could have had it all, Bethesda.
Ohh Iâd love to hear about your DBâs story with him too, if youâre down to share!! :0
OK SO ASSUMING THEY STAY DEMONS, What do the Courtiers think about Devil!Nadia? Do they work with/for her now in lieu of their old patron, or do they want revenge?
(Disclaimer: I havenât finished Nadiaâs route (either ending) so this may stray from canon. Iâm only including the four horsemen because I honestly donât know what happens to Valerius in her reversed ending.)
Valdemar has no loyalties - their only loyalty to the former Devil was their deal with him, and now that heâs gone, I canât imagine theyâd feel the need to stick around. However, if they did stick around, it would be out of curiosity. Having known Nadia (to some degree) for so long prior, theyâd be interested to see how her reign would differ from that of the former Devil. Their relationship would be fraught with tension, but Nadia tolerates their (occasional) presence. As long as they arenât a threat to the MC, she lets them lurk.Â
Vlastomil would feel neither the interest nor need to stick around, for potential deals or revenge. Having received his sacrifice from Lucio (though not at all in the manner Lucio would have liked), heâs content to go back to the South and live in comfortable solitude with his children. Heâs a lot more hesitant to strike up deals with mortals, knowing how terribly annoying they can get when they donât fulfill their end of the bargain.Â
Volta would stay, if only because she has no idea what to do with herself now. Nadia removes her hunger curse and treats her a lot more kindly. Their relationship is almost akin to a master and pet. Volta acts as an underling and Nadia rewards her with food and scritches - she loves scritches. Right behind her lilâ wings - thatâs the spot. Volta adores her beautiful, beloved, kind Countess!
Vulgora, in typical Vulgora fashion, would want revenge. They were perfectly fine with the former Devil! They were having fun! And then Nadia came along and fucked up a great world-merging plan! Unfortunately for them, now that Nadia has the powers of a Major Arcana, revenge would prove a lot harder than they expected. None of their former deals for power and strength would be enough to take Nadia down, and theyâd end up banished to some other realm - probably the Towerâs. Nadia just kind of picks Vulgora up by the scruff of their neck while they kick and yell at her and hands them off to their patron like âCome collect your kid.âÂ
you make such beautiful mods and characters, i'm forever awed
AAAAAAThank you! `(*>ďš<*)â˛
