"There's no way of knowing for sure where the safest place is, so the best you can hope for is to have some good company." (How I Met Your Mother) . Six years ago I moved to London for good and although I'm not there right now and although I have been SO mad at Her this year, I can't just not thank her for all the blessings she's sent my way. And yeah, for the hurdles, too. . She's given me three extremely different but equally challenging jobs, a first flat that made it so much easier to call my current house a home which I objectively obsess over improving. She's given me breathtaking views and unforgettable experiences, wisdom from strangers and fleeting, way too short bonds that left me forever changed before fading out of my frame. A hectic, odd cradle where I truly have had chances to be someone I dreamed of becoming, as unimaginable as that someone could be. London has taught me to actually hug people (on rare occasions), listen to peers (after earning mutual respect), adventure out of my comfort zone (even though some think I haven't changed), experience my deepest, most defining passions on a daily basis and concretely now, not merely inside my head. I have had tons of friends, of any kinds, nationalities, beliefs...Some I now have to miss, some I wish I had never known, some have become family to me despite not seeing me the same way, but all in all I think I have left a good mark on all of them or at least I have tried. And I surely know they have known me for who I really am, whether they could fully understand me or not. . London has freed me and pushed me around at the same time and even though right now I feel so far away from the city and everything in it...even though at my lowest I let my mind whisper that it would be easier to leave her...even though she's been taking stuff and people away from me this year, way more than she's been giving...I know, like you know this about a sibling you occasionally need to stay away from in order not to punch them on the nose...I know I wouldn't be as happy as she's been able to make me, literally anywhere else. . The city, me and my people in between. 🧡💛 . . #london #6years #londontake2 #bfff #friendship (presso London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEp5KZCo1DD/?igshid=1bvxdko7jgf8f
