lolmets is back like it never left
(This is an irrational midnight rant) Is it terrible that I'm starting to feel angry about these crappy performances at this point? The whole game was sloppy and bad. The top of the order is not hitting at all at this point. Cabrera and Syndergaard are the only players I have any confidence in :(
Ugh no I’m angry too! It’s one thing for a team to genuinely suck, but it’s another thing entirely for a good team to underperform so grossly like this. (Though if it’s any consolation, John Gray has been great for the Rockies and this was his first MLB win after three losses and TEN NO DECISIONS holy shit so this poor guy deserved a win.) But yeah idk why the entire lineup slumps at the same time. It’s incredibly frustrating. They’re better than this. But I did also hear that they didn’t get to their hotel until 4am yesterday sooooo let’s cross our fingers that this was just exhaustion catching up to them and they’ll go dinger crazy tonight and tomorrow!
Matz could not have picked a worse time to have a start like that. RIP our bullpen. Can you explain what's going on with Verrett/Montero
I know omg that’s what bothers me the most about this, that on the week they’re playing short a pitcher, the bullpen gets torched. Smh and LOLMets and all that.
Basically I don’t know what the FUCK Terry is thinking here. Verrett is starting in place of Jake tomorrow so he’s not available out of the pen, so the bullpen has been reduced to a bunch of over-used and exhausted arms and they needed someone else. So they called up Montero (why not Goeddel or Gilmartin is BEYOND ME but whatever). But they haven’t activated him yet, because that would mean to make room on the roster Jake would need to be either placed on paternity leave or on the DL, but they don’t want to do either of those things so they’re just waiting and hoping Noah can go deep into the game tonight. But if Noah can’t, they’ll use Verrett tonight out of necessity, activate Montero to start on Wednesday instead and… do something with Jacob.
And if you followed what I just said, you get a cookie lmao.
I just feel bad he couldn't announce it on his own terms. Everyone found out because of some idiot running the website and then on twitter. It sucks for him.
I KNOW RIGHT WTF HAPPENED??? I’m so mad, it was literally just “lmao surprise bitch!!!!!” and he deserved so much better than that. I’m sure he and the Mets will make a formal announcement at some point, but this was so shitty.

“Cuddyer” is trending in the United States on Twitter because nobody knows if he actually retired jESUS CHRIST
i don't really want mejia back because he's an idiot, but if we get to the end of july (when his suspension is over) and the mets are in need of a 7th/8th inning guy, i could definitely see them using him in that role since their bullpen (besides jeurys) is mostly garbage. but like i'm pretty sure everyone on the team is gonna be pissed at him lmao. yikes.
Yeah, in theory I like the idea of having a lockdown guy for the 7th/8th... but like... nobody can trust him. The front office can’t trust him to stay clean. His teammates have been hugely let down by him already and won’t be able to trust that he’ll be there for them. Like???? He won’t be getting paid much (for obvious reasons) so maybe they think he’s a good enough investment for the cost (leave it to the Wilpons, honestly), but can you imagine next season when they’ll have to send someone to the minors to make room for him on the roster? “Thanks, you’ve been great, but we’re going to need you to leave in lieu of a guy who just finished his 162-game suspension for using a banned substance. Take care now!” LMAO YIKES.
Sometimes when I'm on mobile and try to tag something with "lgm," my phone tries to autocorrect it to "lol" and I'm like... yeah you're not wrong.
