lmfao i think i lost brain cells while reading this bc of the sheer stupidity of it. i’ve watched that scene so many times that i think you might have to watch it a few more times because yeah, parrish is totally afraid of lydia which is why it explains him willingly hanging out with her and talking to her and being so happy in her presence and it definitely explains why he kissed her back (AFTER SHE INITIATED THE KISS)!!! no it doesn’t. the whole point of the scene was to show that parrish likes her and that he’s scared of hurting her, to show that yes, he likes her but because of the fact that he might be capable of hurting her, he can never pursue his feelings for her because that will always be haunting him in the back of his head: that he can’t control his powers and he’ll hurt her.
and as for him looking frightened when she kissed him while she was burned, who the fuck won’t be scared of that? what did you expect him to do when he saw her like that? kiss her back? yeah, because that’s such a reasonable thing to do WHEN SHE’S BURNED and not to mention, especially when he thought he was the one who burned her. anon, you literally are missing the point of the whole scene. if you think parrish is afraid of lydia, you might as well say that scott’s fear is of kira when it’s not. his fear is of her going to the dark side and losing her.
i think you might have to rewatch the scene a couple more times without your anti shipper goggles on so you get it in that head of yours :)))
