a/n: waow guys I really love Lohen :3 !! hope you enjoy this little drabble

“C’mon, this is embarrassing…” Lohen whines, shyly turning around for you to admire him. He’s wearing a white frilly top with black shorts, white dress socks, and black loafers. The perfect new outfit you’d bought for him (among many) in a ouji-fashion collection on your recent trip to Fontaine. You’d seen the collection being advertised in a window while you were walking past, and instantly pictured how adorable the Vice Captain would look, dressed in cute frilly clothes. Of course, you couldn’t resist having him try them all on once you got back.

“Aww, but look at you! So refined, so cute!” You coo, circling around him to add on a few accessories. A capelet on his shoulder, a frilly neck collar, and a lopsided mini top hat. He huffs, crossing his arms and trying not to glance your way. He couldn’t give you the satisfaction of seeing how much he actually liked this outfit.

You step back to admire him, much to his dismay. “Hmm…”

“What…what is it? Does it not look good-?” The worry in his voice creeps in as his eyebrows furrow.

“No, no! I just think I have something better for you,” you grin, watching as he sighs.

“Another outfit…?” He doesn’t sound annoyed in the slightest, which is how you can tell he’s enjoying this deep down. He leans over his shoulder as you rifle through the new clothes, his hand resting on your shoulder.

This time, you retrieve a dark long-sleeved tailcoat with two rows of buttons down the front, plus matching black pants and shoes.

“Try this on for me, please, my dear?” You practically beg, holding out the clothes to your boyfriend. He huffs but quickly relents, heading into the other room to change.

The moment he steps out, you can’t resist the urge to squish his cheeks in your hands. His eyes widen, but he relaxes into your touch quickly enough. He looks gorgeous in that new outfit, and it fits him in all the right ways.

“You look so cute! Aww, I love it,” you hum, admiring the adorable sight in front of you. “Though, it’s missing something.”

Lohen pauses, slightly intrigued now. “Oh? And what would that be?”

You step over to the boxes you’d bought and fish out the perfect accessory to sit atop his head - a pair of black bunny ears, fluffy and soft. Lohen’s cheeks instantly warm at the sight of them.

“W-wh…you want me to wear that-?” He splutters, eyes darting anywhere but your face. He’s adorable like this, in these rare moments when you’re the one to catch him off guard.

Yet one pleasing glance from you does it for him. “Alright…” he relents with a sigh. He examines the fluffy ears in his hands before slipping them on his head. “…this good?”

Your weak attempt to hold back a squeal fails as you wrap your arms tightly around him, reaching up to pet his head and newly acquired fluffy ears. Lohen makes a startled squeak noise before instantly returning the hug and leaning into your touch. As much as he acts like he doesn’t enjoy this, the moment you show him any affection, he’s gone for you so quick. Plus, though he may sigh and whine, he truly does love being admired by you (no matter how embarrassing it may be).

“…thank you for going through with this. It makes me so happy to get to dress you up like this,” you mumble against his shoulder, holding him just a bit closer.

He lets out a happy sigh, nodding. “Of course. Makes me happy to see you happy. Plus, I mean - you spent all this money on new outfits for me, so they might as well find a use…”

Your eyes light up and you pull back slightly to meet his gaze. “You mean you’ll wear them in public?”

He nods slowly, considering. “Yeah, sure thing. But not the bunny ears.”

“Right, those are just for my eyes,” you grin, patting his head again and feeling the fluff of the dark-colored ears.

“…I’ll wear them around the house, though. Just not near others.” Lohen agrees with a grin.

at which you look up at him with nothing but bewilderment on your face, only to find him with the exact same smug look as that thing sitting nice and smug in the palm of your hands.

“happy birthday!” he says with pure enthusiasm, grinning ear-to-ear at your distraught. giggling.

remember the cutscene with the traveler encountering lohen while the wild hunt was in Mondstadt and he questioned them as a precaution just in case it was the wild hunt in disguise??? ( varka story quest !! )

now imagine THAT, BUT in nodkrai before the expedition’s return, where they were still fighting the wild hunt… 

and one of the monsters takes your form, wearing your face and using your voice against him… 

there’s just something about lohen harboring a dark side within him.. that what we see on the outside is not really him, but something else inside of him that he has to fight for control

it’s about lohen who is out delivering letters, realizing that he has competition. competition for what exactly?
