BNHA MYTHS ZINE PRESENTS: THE MYTHS INN LOGO COMPETITION
The BNHA Myths Zine Inn has existed for centuries, hosting mythical guests and beings beyond your imagination, while being hidden from the knowledge of humans. We have protected mysteries, the legends of mythologies and all the creatures in between.
Once more, the Inn will be opening its doors, however this time, it will open to include the mortals it has been concealed from. We hope that they can experience the wonderful world that has only been rumored about among them.
And with new adventures, comes a new icon to represent the Inn among the mortals.

We wanted to address questions and concerns regarding how the logo design and letters will be incorporated into the zine and how compensation will work! The last thing we want to do is make anyone feel like they’re being taken advantage of when they win, which is why we want to be upfront with our discussions and decisions. We also want to make sure that people are fully aware of what is and isn’t promised to them before entering!
Before we begin, we just want to clear up any confusion and let you know that these logos and letters are not going to be in place of an artist or writer’s page(s). They will be a separate, additional spread we mods have decided to include and design, so this is completely different from being a pinch hitter!
Now as far as compensation goes for logo designs goes, we have decided to give logo design winners a full bundle + shipping as compensation or monetary equivalent for the following reasons:
As opposed to contributors, we wanted to give our logo winner an upfront form of compensation for their piece. The only thing that we can guarantee our logo winner is a full bundle prize or its monetary equivalent and for our letter winners, a discount on their purchase! This is similar to paying someone upfront for a good or service they provide. By doing this, we will be able to guarantee them some compensation no matter what sales end up looking like.
This form of compensation is different from how we are compensating our zine contributors.
As with how most for-profit fanzines work, contributors are compensated depending on how well sales do. This means that contributors come into a zine fully aware that compensation, monetary or otherwise, is not guaranteed. We also want to briefly mention that all of our merch artists and writers are from our pool of zine contributors who signed up on a purely voluntary basis, meaning they are still receiving the same cut as every other contributor.
Monetary compensation only comes after we take into consideration the cost of production and shipping orders and giveaways (this includes the rewards given to our logo and letter winners) and other expenses and taxes. The leftover profit, if any, is then going to be put first, into seeing if we are able to provide all our contributors with a full contributor bundle + shipping. If not, then we would offer our contributors a chance to purchase everything at production cost. Of course we are doing calculations to make sure that our contributors get a full bundle but as as mentioned, it’s all dependent on how well sales do. If we are able to provide all our contributors with a full bundle with profit left over, only then will we be able to split the remaining profits evenly between our contributors. At this point, the 5-10 winners as they have already been compensated as promised above and will not be included in this split.
To summarize where the finances are going towards, in order:
Production and shipping for orders and giveaways (including the competition rewards and discounts).
Other expenses like fees and taxes.
Providing our contributors with a full bundle.
Splitting whatever is left between contributors as a form of monetary compensation.
If you have any further concerns regarding these decisions, please let us know and we can discuss it! We want to assure everyone that this is something that we have put thought into. We don’t want to anyone to feel like they are being taken advantage of because that is not our intention. If anything, we created this in order to continue the spark of creativity as we have continued to build on this world we’ve created!
Thank you so much for your understanding!!
You can find our initial Logo Competition post here and our Letters to the Inn post here!!
Is it okay to send more than one submission for the contest?
Hello!!
Yes! You can send a maximum of TWO submissions for LETTERS TO THE INN, and TWO submissions for the MYTHS INN LOGO!
We’d like to just clarify that sending multiple files of the same logo design with different colouring will not count as a second entry, but a variation of one of the two you’ve submitted!
