P much! Most agree it “is and isn’t” a HM game, if that makes sense. It’s a little complicated, it has a lot to do with developer/localization politics- Fogu has a small but rly informative section about it at the bottom of that page. There hasn't been a general consensus on what Vivi's blacked out eyes probably mean. The only assumption I can honestly make is that it could be correlated with blindness, in the sense of Vivi being oblivious of what's going on, especially when she couldn't recognize Lewis despite their apparent close relationship. But that's just what I think!
I remember a lot of folks thinking that her memory was wiped but I honestly don't know what to say about that hmmmm....
