Bullfinch animation loop
No poem today, I have so many in drafts but I don't really like them enough to post them, so here's a short pixel art gif I made for a college assignment ;) lmk what you think!
Red-headed Bullfinch (Pyrrhula erythrocephala), female, family Fringillidae, order Passeriformes, West Bengal, India
photograph by Prakash Sherpa
I found this card with gay bullfinches at my local grocery store & it made me think of your blog because the color scheme of these birds is so twenty one pilots coded!
(I’m like 99% the gay part was on accident because the designer didn’t know what female bullfinches look like, but now we have bird joshler :))
Hey, thanks for sharing! It's cute you remembered my blog, and that's indeed bird joshler and so tøp coded!
It's funny and interesting that in my country, previously known as the USSR, there were postcards with - obviously for me now 😀 - male bullfinches together on the branch. They were popular for new year, and now they are considered to be Soviet vintage. So the one below goes Happy New Year! I've checked online marketplaces now and found out they're still on sale and rather expensive :D
I want you to be happy, Hummingbird
My last drawing, which I managed to submit on DeviantArt exactly one day before the site was closed in my country in mid-April of 2026. I tried to imagine what the separation scene would have been like for my favorite couple from seventh season of Russian Masked singer – Arseniy-Snowball the male bullfinch and Zara the female hummingbirdy. These birds were forced to separate due to the judges' unfair decision to reveal the bullfinch's identity. And then things only got worse when hummingbird's identity was revealed in the first semi-final of 7th Russian season. We could say that love story of bullfinch and hummingbird ended in the spirit of Romeo and Juliet. Almost the entire seventh season hinged on the love story of these two birds. And like many fans of Russian Masked singer, I'm sad that both birds didn't make it to the finale.

Lady hummingbird and Biker bullfinch
This drawing was made in beginning of February of 2026. Besides Meerkat, I have two other favorites from 7th season of Russian Masked singer - they're female hummingbird and male bullfinch.
The hummingbird immediately captured my heart with her bright wings.
When I first saw a bullfinch, I was a little confused. He looked more like pigeon than black-and-gray bird with red belly. But a little later, this feathered guy slightly unfurled his coat, and everyone saw a few red feathers covering his upper chest. And then it became clear that this bird really was a bullfinch! I called him by a short name - Snowball.
These birds became my main OTP of 7th season. I shipped them from the very beginning until the first semi-final, when the identity of these two birds became clear. I even wrote poems about them (albeit in Russian). And of course, I'm sorry that both feathered participants didn't make it to the season finale.
Down below you can see another one image of this birdy OTP:
What if Hummingbird and Bullfinch dance together — artwork by UnknownRussainRat on DeviantArt. My favorite couple from 7th season of Russian
If the opportunity arises, I'll write a fanfic about them based on their performances.
I have not posted my drawings in a while. Bullfinch
