Tell me again why this is such a bad idea.
her legs remain stiff. suddenly she doesn't know how to bend her knees and every bit of poise and grace she's ever held about her is tossed out the window. a hand remains on the wall of the ice rink, refusing to release as she simply stands there like a helpless animal. she hasn't even moved and somehow her ankle did that weird thing where it caves in even though she hasn't moved and she almost loses her balance for a brief moment. both hands find the wall and she's clinging on for dear life for a bit.
but somehow, john logan managed to convince allie to trust him on the ice. she holds his hands with such a fierce grip, eyes wide and mildly fearful and just a hint of excitement over the fact that she's doing it! she's off the wall. and it's all because of him guiding her to the center rink while she just barely bends her knees. (in fact, she's mostly stiff with a subtle wobble here and there β legs separating too far and returning when the mild panic sets in.)
β this is your worst idea yet, β she replies with an exasperated laugh. she's a theater girl β an actress. she's never had a need to try on ice skates and risk breaking an ankle. β don't let go ... i don't know how to get back. β
