All right!

How I entered/learned about it: I saw Iron Man the day it came out in theatres, was blown away like most everyone else and now here we are almost ten years later, wow. 

Fave character: You know I’m gonna say Spider-Man. Of course I’m gonna say Spider-Man, awkward Star Wars line aside, Tom Holland and the Russo Brothers did an awesome job. You gotta remember, I was totally against them making him a kid again but Tom won me over, he did. 

Least Fave Character: Diamondback from Luke Cage. Cottonmouth should have been the big bad. But hey, at least Mahershala Ali got the Oscar for Moonlight, big ups to him. 

OTPs: Foggy and Karen in Daredevil. Hell, Frank and Karen too. Basically her with just about anybody but Matt at this point, comic lore be damned, they’re boring because Matt’s dumb ass is too busy whupping ninja ass to even check on his friends, what an idiot. 

Pairing that everyone likes but I don’t get: Frostiron probably. Just seems kinda random and slapped together, but it’s cool guys, have fun. 

Fave thing about the fandom: How idealistic they can be, how...unfettered by gatekeeping comic book nerddom they can be and just enjoying the movies and shows on their own merits. And criticizing them by the same rubric.

The most despised thing: The hate Tony Stark gets. He’s nowhere near as bad and did nothing near as bad as he was in the Civil War comic. MCU Tony, for all his faults is pure hero but you can tell he’s burnt out from it.

Well....I try to be optimistic, but I think I finally am ready to accept that I'm now a "Barbie was better while I was growing up" kind of person. While there is a lot more diversity in the dolls overall, which is objectively a good thing, they hardly dive into gimmicks anymore. Fashion packs are usually boring and sometimes too expensive for what you get. The clothes can be more hit than miss. The lack of articulation on the playline stuff is dumb. This probably all sounds like small stuff but it piles up together.

And as far as media goes - we literally peaked with Star Light Adventure. (Technically that came out when I was already an adult, but I hadn't even turned 20 yet when it released so I still count it as "part of when I was growing up".) No other movie has measured up to it, especially when we stopped getting actual new movies and just got stuck with glorified 1-hour specials that all tie back into the Dreamhouse Adventures universe. (Sidenote: I do get some enjoyment out of a few of these movies, I'm just not crazy about them). The TV shows aren't better. LiTD was funny and had its own charm being a wacky parody of reality TV with dolls. Dreamtopia was a cute kid series with good lessons. DA has just been dragging and dragging and dragging and has way too many plot holes and lore and never really feels like it knows what it wants to be (that said though, I will admit some enjoyment can still be found in parts of the universe).

1.the character everyone gets wrong

I've said it a million times but Princess Tori & Keira. Still always reduced to "spoiled brats" and I cannot fucking stand it. Like actually watch the damn movie before you open your mouth. But apparently that's too hard for some people.

That Rapunzel/Tangled comparison post that got screenshotted and passed around because "Oh look at this dummy of COURSE the movies are similar they're based on the same fairytale!!!" Long story short that's such a fucking stupid take because OP was clearly talking about the fact that Rapunzel and Tangled both gave their protagonists a knack for painting, WHICH IS NOT IN THE GRIMM STORY and maybe some visual similarities from both of the girls. But instead of using their damn brain that one person just screamed their head off about being based on the same story. I could actually talk about more things relating to that topic but I'll save it for its own post.

6. which ship fans are the most annoying?

I'd say Anneliese x Preminger, Blair x Delancy, and Blair x Miss Privet shippers because they have the audacity to exist.

7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?

Hmm...never thought about this. I think PatP is kind of perfect as its own thing. I'm not sure what kind of plot I'd want. But I do have some random ideas of what I'd like to see:

Maybe some role-switching (ba-dum-tiss) with Erika being the one in danger and Anneliese having to rescue her this time? (I feel like in the back of my mind someone wrote a fic about that).

More interaction between Anneliese and Dominick! I want to know what their dynamic would've actually been like!

More interaction between Julian and Dominick too while I'm at it!

How did marrying Dominick affect Erika's life as a singer? Was she fulfilled enough by her travels to just settle down? Does she keep doing performances? Or maybe she teaches now? I really want to know!!

Seeing one of the girls, preferably Anneliese, become a mother would be pretty cool! I don't think any Barbie protagonist has done that yet. Part of why I like the Disney princess Ariel is because we see her become a mom so the same desire applies to Barbie. Not to say that women HAVE to become mothers or whatever, but it's a concept we haven't seen done in a Barbie film, so it would be new and refreshing.

A small thing but I'd love to see Anneliese really getting her hands dirty while doing her gem research! Just imagine if she got to actually play around in the dirt and dust instead of just taking notes in her bedroom? Maybe she could even get to wear pants! I know everyone sees Anneliese as the "prim and proper dainty princess" one of the girls, but in actually she'd jump at the chance to do her studies in the outdoors. And she wouldn't have to sacrifice her "girlish" aesthetic either; she could look pretty and practical at the same time
