#lockecest

So some of you might remember my Lockecest fic series that started with Things Locked Away, in which Tyler and Kinsey discover a new set of keys that lead to a special room, and continued in Fragments that Fit, in which pieces of their personality removed from their heads push them into exploring the feelings they’d always denied.

The two were set in the summer between Season One and Two, and I always intended on continuing it, but then Season Two came out, and... although I loved so much of it, it did kind of shatter my headcanons in a couple ways and there were certain elements I didn’t agree with and I wasn’t sure how I wanted to continue my story and take the elements I wanted and leave the ones I didn’t.

Finally, I bit the bullet and started essentially my own rewrite of season two, assuming my own two stories were canon and kind of chart how those changes ripple through the plots we saw. Each chapter of it corresponds to one episode, focusing only on the things that had to change, and as such, most of the early chapters feel almost like just recapping key scenes of the original with a little changed context, and a few added scenes which set up what I planned to do later.

I didn’t post each chapter on here because it seemed like not-much content (even though it’s already longer than either of the other two stories), but now I’ve finished posting Chapter Seven, which is where the plot really starts to diverge and that feels like a good place to start to advertise it. (In terms of writing, I’m mid-chapter nine of ten).

You could (if familiar with my previous two stories in the series) start on Chapter Seven of this and just assume that various things you weren’t aware of happened behind the scenes to make for dramatic changes, or start at the beginning and see them slowly get set up while I occasionally snipe out at perceived minor flaws with the original show and address them my own way. Your call.
