Dear me in 2021,
Congratulations! Youâve made it through 2020. Wow. What a year it has been. The longest 12 months thatâs somehow passed by so swiftly. So much has happened around the world this year and so much has happened to you particularly.
The beginning of this year, you had a lot of plans and you were so excited. As the months slowly unfolded, youâve witnessed your solid plans come crashing down one after another. Youâve experienced yourself getting disappointed, then brushing it off and getting back up. Making new plans just to get them cancelled. Over and over again. But each time your resilience has grown. You kept going. You cherished what you had - friends, phone calls, time - and you made the most out of it.
The way youâve dealt with change and uncertainty has been incredible - and you should be very proud of yourself.
And if there is anything at all that weâve learnt this year, itâs that faith is everything. The universe has a way of working things out for you. Worrying about it or being focussed on what you donât have yet is not going to change anything. When the time is right, youâll receive all that you need and more. Donât ever doubt that. Every time you had almost given up hope this year, youâve been proven wrong. Money, people, love. In the end you got what you needed. You came out the other end, more appreciate of what you have. You are a stronger person because of it. So much growth has happened, and I cannot wait to see you grow even more.
Donât forget how powerful stillness can be. I know it scares you when youâre not moving at a million miles a minute, and somehow you feel guilty for taking time out or you feel like youâre falling behind. Donât let your mind trick you. Stillness is good. 2020 has taught you how crucial it is to let yourself be still. Let your mind and your body speak to you. Learn from them. So sit in this stillness. Walk beside it. Dance itâs it. Let it envelope you. Let it strip you down and nourish you.
Trust me, whatever 2021 throws at you, youâre ready. Youâve got this. And youâve got me.
Love,
Me
