Not your usual aesthetically pleasing instagram post, but I don’t care as I am so proud right now. My karate club, @shotobudo Bearsden Martial Arts Club, has been shutdown since lockdown first began. Meeting my best friends every 2 days of the week had become part of my routine, and something that has never failed to make me happy. When that was stripped away, it was really difficult for all of us to adapt. We’ve been meeting every week, doing wee training videos for ourselves to keep motivated. Mostly it was just to see each other, as we all have a very strong bond with each other. Today, in solidarity with the entire club, we took on the challenge of the BMAC Lockdown Knockdown - throwing 50 000 punches for charity. It was an amazing team effort and it is a testament to the family bond we have developed. About 30 people took part and at last count, we have raised £1417.75 for @nhscharitiestogether, @trusselltrust and The Star Project. This is an only lightly filtered picture of someone who has thrown 5165 punches...and I l haven’t felt this happy in a really long time. You can still donate to our cause at uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Team/BMAC.
