Liquor prices increased in Tamil Nadu
Liquor prices have been increased in Tamil Nadu from Monday, March 7. It has been increased by Rs 10 for a 180 ml bottle and Rs 20 for a 375 ml bottle of liquor. The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting on March 5.

This decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting held on Saturday, March 5. Liquor is sold in Tamil Nadu under the state's banner, called Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited (TASMAC).
The previous price hike for liquor in Tamil Nadu came in May 2020. The prices of liquor were raised by a maximum of Rs 20 from May 7 in Tamil Nadu.
Retail outlets had opened for business for the first time in over 40 days due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
