The two easternmost bridges of the Venetian Causeway, which links Miami to Miami Beach, will get some badly needed upgrades later this year.
More construction on Venetian!
Work is scheduled to improve the eastern drawbridge. It will last from September to December.
The article doesn't clearly state whether the causeway will be traversable or not during this time. At one point the reporter says that during the work it will be "open to traffic but will have lane closures." Then later in the article, he writes "Closure of the eastern drawbridge will again force commuters who use the Venetian to travel between the mainland and Miami Beach to use an alternate route, like the MacArthur or Julia Tuttle causeways." So it's anyone's guess as to whether drivers can cross the causeway once work begins.
