lloyd is the head of the church, who oversees everything that happens in the small ninjago city (population ~100). one day on one of his routine strolls, he finds a crystal dagger. upon picking it up he blacks out and ascends to an unknown realm, where he’s met face to face with one of his gods - the source dragon of motion, just motion for short.

she bluntly asks him to save her from her prison, for he is the grandson of god and destined to save the world from colliding with heaven and hell, which she had failed to do. the collision will certainly end life as they know it.

however, she tells him that if he accepts this quest, he will begin his transformation into the conduit for the source dragons, harnessing all of their power in a single vessel to watch over the land and keep the balance of the worlds in place. the dragons have grown to be targets of evil forces, and they cannot continue battling as cosmic beings. they cannot interact with mortals, and need his help stopping whoever imprisoned her.

what does this exactly mean?

motion is trapped inside of this crystal blade, imprisoned at the very bottom of the world, where he must begin his descent to madness in order to save everyone he loves.

i’m not sure if he embarks alone or not, but one thing is clear: he cannot let anyone know his connection to god, or his connection to the dragon gods of their land. it will put a target on his back and end in his demise, from an enemy he didn’t even know existed.

he has seven days to free motion from her prison. while he goes on this journey to save her, his body begins to contort and break, transforming into a dragon-beast creature, the ultimate form of life, and once she is freed, his transformation will be complete. he will live the rest of his life as a god living amongst the people, protecting those who cannot protect themselves.
