Genesis 50:20 New International Version (NIV) 20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
Everyone Lives the Same Life
I've had a sudden realisation that nearly everyone who's lived has lived the exact same life with only slight variations. We all live around this identical template where we Learn, Work, Marry, Procreate, Die. It seems our meter-stick of success is based on this image of an adult working Monday-Friday coming home to a happy spouse and children, and we automatically judge people who may live alone and maybe secretly pity them. Why did they not marry? Is there something wrong with them? Are they secretly gay?
And I think in a way we all are moulded into this mindset. Single people dream of a rom-com romance where their love interest rushes through the airport to declare their undying love to them and they both ride into the sunset and live happily ever after.
But why should we marry? I am in a state of voluntary romantic solitary at the moment and I am extremely happy with myself, why should I not stay like this?
Soon I know, as each of my friends get past the Learning part of life and move on to the subsequent parts I will almost be forced to marry lest I be abandoned by former friends who will create new responsibilities for themselves beyond those of our friendship, and in turn be forced to create my own responsibilities.
...
Or maybe I'll live a different life.
