Though we had hours to go before we reached our destination, as Theo and I cuddled on the train, he told me, "There's nowhere I'd rather be than right here with you."

When I got home Jason informed me that he had put up mistletoe... In every room of the house. "Not that I really need an excuse to kiss you," he said, "but I'll certainly take one whenever I can."

Though not as classically festive, the unseasonably warm December weather gave Jason and me a great excuse to go out for an afternoon picnic and walk. “We’ll appreciate this when we’re snowed in to our house in a few weeks,” he said with a wink. 

Parker and I finished putting up the string lights on the house by mid-morning. “Now that we’ve made the outside of our house look cozy, why don’t we get cozy inside?” Parker asked with a smile. 

Jason came back from the kitchen, and as he passed me, dropped a couple mini marshmallows into my hot chocolate. “You just looked like you could use a few more,” he said with a wink. 

I’d spent most of the morning working, so Gabriel came in to surprise me with hot apple cider and fresh, warm doughnuts from the bakery. “I know you’re busy,” he said, “but I wanted to make sure you remembered to take a break.” 

Jason handed me hot apple cider as I stepped up onto the porch. “It’s not too cold,” he said. “Let’s eat dinner outside and just enjoy the foliage.”
