The nullifying bracelet only did some of it’s job, it couldn’t protect her from the bigger emotions that fell into her vicinity. It always hit different, depending on the emotion. Sometimes it felt like ice cold water was splashed on her, other times it was boiling hot, then there were times when she felt like her chest had been cut open with a meat cleaver. So yes, big emotions did startle her to say the very least. They threw her off kilter, from seeing straight to her center of gravity, to sometimes walking straight into doors. Annie let out a curse. “Why do people have to feel so loud?” And so much-- too much, and now she was stuck feeling it too.

Marina sat at one of the coffee tables as she waited for her name to be called. Dory was unpacking their dorm and she offered to get them some coffee. It had been a long trip from Atlantis seeing the school was practically half way across the surface land. She always felt a little more comfortable leaving her alone on campus. It was one of the safest places in the world. She heard her name called but when she went up, there was not cups. “Hey, uhm..I think that’s my order?” she said to the person holding to cups. “Two lattes for Marina...Unless you’re also Marina?”
