Am I the only one that gets the ick when people joke about Dan “leaving us” and Phil having to “look after the kids” during the hiatus? Like Dan admitted he was suicidal and took a break for himself and people treat it like he abandoned his responsibilities and Phil and the Phandom just had to wait til he “came to his senses”. It’s just not funny in the slightest and I feel like the fans treat it as like ah oh he just needed a moment instead of like acknowledging the shit fandom put him through. Dan had and still has every right to not do any Phandom content. And I feel there a certain fans that deep down resent him for the hiatus and it shows in how they talk about him. “Dan is harsh with fans”, I think they are both way too forgiving.
I mean....the glue incident wasn't funny either, and the ass bleeding incident was legitimately how Phil almost died.
They handle trauma through humor, and we do the same, when it comes to them.
It's just a part of being in their phandom, really serious things become jokes cause if we don't laugh we cry.
