The Adventures of shuggy, a puzzle platform game, in which you simply collect gems. This interesting game is actually rather addicting and it's soundtrack has a premise that reminds me of playing Maplestory at Florina Beach. I am constantly reminded that I am not supposed to jump on the spike ball things and eventually find out that I just suck.Â
The game has a similar style of gameplay that refreshes old school gaming and sends you back to an era where platform gaming was actually fun. It is loaded with little perks and is very entertaining when you have free time to burn. It is almost like playing Angry birds except it constantly changes and introduces new perks and challenges.
When I play this game I feel like I am doing some sort of jump quest in an rpg game and am frustrated when I can't do something right. Eventually I find out how to do things.Â
The game has its own flair, as most good puzzle games need to. But when I repetitively fail, I am glad that the respawn time only takes seconds. There are no penalties for dying and the only real competitive edge for this game is beating your time and the times on the global leaderboards.Â
For a puzzle game it also brings something new to the atmosphere everytime you go to a new stage or a new level. There are more surprises, another sequence of comic book storyline, and more challenging obstacles.
I never seem to get enough of indie developed puzzle games, and if you like puzzle games as much as I do, you will be happy that the fan base is growing for this jam packed little indie game and developers heed to fans callings for updates for the game which gives it an added plus when you can actually provide relevent feedback.Â
You will also realize that there are plenty of levels to keep you up for hours smashing your keys, and using your brain.Â
Overall this is not the most original game, but with many challenges, advancing levels by flipping gravity, and utilizing more shuggy's it reminds me of playing games like four swords adventures, and a bit of nostalgia comes to mind when I play it.Â
In my honest and sincere opinion this game for what its worth deserves a 4 out of 5.Â
