Alright, here's what I know.
At the post office It took 32 minutes before I was able to talk to someone and get directed to the correct line. After several more minutes I was informed that someone was going to find a specific supervisor (that never showed up). 30 minutes into waiting for a supervisor, someone else lines up to ask about the exact same problem and my information is finally taken "to the back" (Package marked as delivered but not delivered to me). 28 minutes later, that's over an hour and a half of total wait time, a supervisor (not the one I was waiting for) shows up to explain.
USPS has the ability to check where packages were last located using GPS tracking. This is what I requested and sure enough I am given printouts of exactly where my packages ended up.
I can do nothing with this information, However the supervisor says they can attempt a retrieval via mail carrier.
BUT
If the mail carrier on that route does not want to look into it, you're shit out of luck.
If the recipient of your package denies that they recieved your package, you're shit out of luck.
If the seller does not feel like filing a missing package claim in order to give you a refund, you're shit out of luck.
Filing a claim as a buyer is unclear because it looks like it works best for insured items, and those of a specified dollar amount. In all liklihood I'm shit out of luck.
(Earlier in the day it took 4 phone calls, 2 automatically closed chats, and 1 supremely unhelpful chat to figure out I needed to go to the local post office)
The sooner you can run to the post office and request gps location verification the better. It may not help, but there's a glimmer of hope the sooner you can catch a discrepancy.
The package misdelivered 17 days ago is hopeless.
The package misdelivered 2 days ago has a glimmer, but holding ones breath would prove dire.
All can say for certain is I've tried. I likely wont get a refund or my items, but I can say I tried.
