Just popping in with an update. (Casual. Normal. Definitely not emotionally loaded at all.)
Iām trying. I really am. I know it might not look like itāand honestly, sometimes it feels like Iām failing in real timeābut I am trying. Iām struggling more than I like to admit, and thatās just the truth of it. I have so much love for this space, but damn, itās hard to exist here when I feel like Iāve burned bridges I canāt fix. I guess Iāll carry that pain with me like I do everything else. Please donāt feel bad for meāIām very familiar with my own disappointment by now.
Iāve tried working on my remaining fics and⦠fuck, itās hard. Everything feels forced, like Iām chasing a version of myself that isnāt showing up right now. And that frustrates me deeply, because I miss writing traumatic comedy fics š„¹ Maybe the spark will come back one day. I hope it does.
Right now, Iām focusing on my second book. Still not the fantasy novel (which I might scrap entirely because I donāt want to write something that feels like it already existsāeven if that technically means thereās a market for it). Instead, Iām staying with poetry. Always poetry. Even though hardly anyone reads it (okayāa few of you do, and I see you). Iām hoping to publish it later this year. Hopefully. Iām trying to move slowly this time and not hyperfocus myself into the ground like I did with the first book.
This one is⦠rawer. And I canāt constantly tap into my worst, saddest feelings without completely wrecking myself, so itās taking time. Iām layering in humor, anger, and a very specific fuck-you-ish energy. Iām excited to hold it in my hands somedayāand also convinced no one will buy it š (I do genuinely believe this, even though it also makes me sad. Two things can coexist.)
Mentally? Still kind of a dumpster fire. I am trying to get help, but the healthcare system in my country is⦠UGH. Apparently Iām not āsick enoughā because Iām ātoo capableā š as if they donāt see how many days it takes me to recover after socializing, or how often I just cry because I canāt do this shit anymore. Iām exhausted. Iām tired of asking for help and not getting it. Tired of researching everything myself while overstimulated, depressed, suicidal, and feeling like Iām drowning every single day.
Somehow, mental healthcare has become my accidental special interestāand weirdly, the thing keeping me afloat. Iām so angry about how gatekept it is that Iāve been playing with the idea of creating a free resource website focused on autism, ADHD, and C-PTSD, built entirely from everything Iāve learned on my own journey. No paywalls. No bullshit. Just help.
If youāve made it this farāthank you. Truly. Youāre a gem, and I adore you š« Iām sorry for not being around more. I am still here. I still want to try. I just canāt promise consistency. If you want to talk to me, feel free to ask for my DiscordāIām almost always there.
I hope you got BTS tickets this year, and that good things find you wherever you are š
Iāll probably peek in from time to time. Thank you for continuing to support me, andāhonestlyāfor giving me reasons to stay.
I am still working on Words on a Page and something for The Winter Collection, and I just finished a small drabble that I might post soon (Iām SCARED, cus itās with Jungkook). Iām also slowly (very slowly) working through ideas for the reading library. Everything moves at a snailās pace⦠except when my hyperfocus kicks in š
Please be patient with me. I really am trying š„¹
Iāll leave you with a small poem from the book:
The world tells me
to breathe deeper,
but it is the weight
of its demands
that crushes my chest.
I am not short of air.
I am carrying too much.
And now,
I let myself
set some of it down.

I know itās been some time since the whole āwant to go back to the old tumblr vibesā and Iām still there, lol. Iāve been having ideas and Iāve been trying to figure out how to go about it. I truly do miss it here.
Tumblr was part of the thing that kept me alive in some of my darkest timesā-and I want to honor that, and bring that back. Also. I miss my friends and my moots š„¹
Iāve remade my discord in case you want to talk, or yell at me for being stupid and dramatic enough to delete it in the first place (oh how I wish I hadn't deleted it, but Iām older and wiser now).Ā
My username is still @kingofbodyrolls because Iām unoriginal like that.
Also.
If anyone wants to play ffxiv with me, hit me up! Itās basically my second home š
(Iām really trying to come back more, while still honoring my mental health, while also realizing that this might actually help make my mental health better, so Iām giving it a try okay. Please be kind (when are you not???))
I need to share something before I drop my new series.
I just watched a TED talk by Amie McNee (god, I adore herāher book We Need Your Art: Stop Fucking Around And Make Something is one Iāll never stop recommending). She reminded me of something I keep forgetting, something that feels like oxygen every time I return to it: the importance of making art. Daily.
If youāve been following me for a while, you know how much Iāve struggled hereāboth in my writing and in myself. For a long time, the question that haunted me was: Who do I make art for? My old answer was always āeveryoneā or āthe world.ā But that answer almost destroyed me.
Because the truth is, I wasnāt creating for the worldāI was creating for validation. I was creating to soothe my trauma responses, to fill the void where love and safety should have been. Thatās why I deleted my original blog (for those who didnāt know). I needed to step away, to rewrite my own narrative, to stop bleeding for applause.
Little Lissa used to write only for herself. She wrote to survive a childhood where she felt invisible, unloved, misunderstood. Her words were secret companions, a way to breathe when breathing was hard. And Iām learning to return to herāto write for me again.
Hereās the thing: art doesnāt have to be for the internet. It doesnāt have to be for anyone. It can be messy, nonsensical, private. It can exist solely to heal you. When I self-published my book, it wasnāt for sales (which, unsurprisingly, didnāt come). It was for me. For the younger version of myself who once dreamed it might be possible. For the few people who did read it, I hope it mattered. Thatās the magic Amie talks aboutāthat art can be someoneās antidote. That in the right moment, one poem, one painting, one song, can stitch something invisible inside another person. Thatās alchemy.
Writing has always been my therapy. Whether itās poetry, stories, or fanfiction, I write to mend what I once believed was broken. It wasnāt brokenāit was bruised, and word by word, Iāve been tending to it. And you can do the same. Whether you paint, sing, cook, weave, garden, sculpt, or stitchāyou are repairing yourself when you create. You are becoming.
So yes, writing will always define me. Some of it is just mine, a quiet conversation with myself. Some of it I share, because I believe thereās power in connection, in saying: Here, this is meādo you see yourself too?
And maybe this post is just me rambling (wouldnāt be the first time), but maybe someone out there needs to hear this:
The world needs your art. Even if itās just for you. Even if no one else ever sees it. Create anyway.
Iām still here, hanging on by the edges. The aftermath of my suicide attempt is a dull, heavy thing that follows me around like winter; depression is the weather. My son was recently diagnosed with autism, Iām still waiting for my own diagnosis, Iām learning to set boundaries with my dad, and honestlyāeverything elseāall of it is piled up in my arms at once. Itās fucking exhausting.
But Iām still here. I always have been the one who fights her way back, step by step, because what else is there to do? An old friend told me once to put one foot in front of the otherāthatās the map Iām following, hoping thereās a clearing ahead.
My mood tilts without warning. Some days Iām small and soft; other days Iām a fury I didnāt know I had. I miss people I drifted away fromāI think I abandoned them before I even knew how to stay. Imagine a tiny graveyard of friendships I couldnāt hold for three decades. Itās gruesome and kind of funny in that sad way.
Advocating for myself is uphill. The mental health system feels like a maze that was never built for someone like me, and sometimes I want to throw my hands up and stop trying altogether. But then I remember the small things Iām trying to find again: a cup of tea that tastes like a little victory, a sentence that lands right in a notebook, the way light looks on an afternoon I didnāt ruin.
I think I found my angerāthank god? I was never allowed to be angry as a kid. Anger used to scare me because it felt disloyal to the āniceā version of me. Now itās a compass. It says when somethingās wrong. I used to shove that voice down with everything else. Iām listening now. Itās helping me pull at the seams and find out who I actually am beneath all the performed smiles and pleases.
Iām not around much here because Iām afraid. Afraid of the guilt for ghosting people, afraid of falling into the vanity of likes and followers. It doesnāt help me, so I keep my distance. StillāI do want to share a win: I finished a new fic. A whole Jimin series. It needs editing, and I wonāt promise a dateāitāll appear when itās ready. Thatās how it goes with me.
If you read this: please be kind to yourself. You are loved, even when you feel like a ghost š·š«
āIām messy, Iām angry, Iām trying. And Iām still writing.
Trigger warning: death, cancer, mention of suicide
Life can be unbearably cruel.
Fragileāyes, Iāve always known thatā
but why did you have to go so soon?
A dear friend left this world a few days ago,
and my emotions have been a storm ever since.
Grief has many faces:
today it wears sadness, tomorrow frustration,
sometimes it even comes dressed in rageā
at the world, at myself, at the sheer unfairness of it all.
She had cancer.
I knew time was not on her side.
But she was only thirty-four.
Too young for goodbyes.
Too young for the word never.
We hadnāt known each other long.
Our eldest children played together first,
and soon our lives became intertwined.
The kids adored each other.
We shared meals in warm kitchens,
laughed about the small things,
and spoke in low voices about the wounds of childhood.
Their home was comfort.
Her smile was comfort.
Now, I imagine that home colder,
its warmth dimmed.
She will never again see her husbandās face,
never again wrap her arms around her children,
breathe them in,
whisper goodnight and close the door softly behind her.
I can barely see the screen as I write this through tears.
I canāt fathom the ache her children carry,
nor the heaviness her husband must hold.
She was sweet.
She was warm.
Even when her body betrayed her,
she smiled.
She radiated life.
She believed in me when I couldnāt.
And nowāsheās gone.
Just⦠gone.
Her name still lives in my phone.
Her number still waits in my contacts.
Her face still smiles at me on Snapchat.
But the messages will stay unanswered.
The silence is forever now.
And if I feel this broken,
how must they feel?
I hate admitting thisā
but just this week, I tried to leave.
Pills.
A quiet goodbye.
Iām still here, somehow.
Struggling, yes.
But here.
And now I feel like a fool
for wanting to escape a life
that she fought to keep.
I know grief is not a competition.
Itās not about measuring pain.
Itās about compassion.
Itās about honoring what we still have,
even when it feels like not enough.
I will tryā
for her, for her children, for my childenā
to find the fire for my own life again.
To stop taking breath for granted.
Because you never know when it will be your last.
The silence is heavy now,
but I hold it gently.
Memories bloom in my hands,
fragile flowers that refuse to wither.

Just came back on here to check on a friend because of the tsunami warnings going off in most places of the world. Saw that a lot of you have checked in and left me sweet messages, that I feel like I don't deserve at all š
And when I said I wanted "space and time for myself" that was a big fat lie. That was just me being my triggered self retreating, doing my normal "I'll abandon them first dance" and then "I hope someone reach out to me..." (childhood trauma here, because I used to cry alone in my room and no one came...) but I just wanted someone to come, sit with me and understand me š„ŗ I still do that. I am still that sad and scared little kid. I don't want be alone, but I'm scared that people will leave me... So I leave them first š
Just wanted to say... I'm doing a bit better. I'm feeling very stressed with life, but mentally I'm doing okay. I'll check all my notes later and respond to everyone of you š«š
I... I'm sorry. Truly. I do not know what I did to derseve so many sweet and lovely people to care about silly old me š
Thank you for being here.
For reading my stories, for sitting with my words,
for meeting me in the quiet corners of this space.
Thank you for making this place feel like home,
even if only for a fleeting moment.
To my mootsā
youāve been lights in the fog,
flickers of warmth in cold hours.
Iāve met some beautiful souls here,
and I carry you with meā
more deeply than you may ever know.
Even if we no longer speak,
even if we drifted like tide and shore,
please know:
you mattered.
You matter.
The light you gave meā
I hold it close,
a lantern for the darker nights to come.
Itās hard to say goodbye to something that held my heart so tenderly.
But lately, it feels like Iām only able to tell stories
the way old scars speakā
softly, painfully, in echoes.
And I donāt know if this space is still the place
where that kind of truth belongs.
I feel too muchā
always have.
Everything rushes in like waves that never stop breaking.
And the past,
the hurt,
it keeps finding me.
So for now, I have to pause.
Maybe indefinitely.
Maybe not.
I wondered if I should just vanish quietly.
Disappear into the silence,
let the light dim without a word.
But you deserved more than that.
Thank you for your time,
for your tears,
for your laughter.
Thank you for letting me reach you,
however briefly.
Iāll cradle the memories we made here
with love that doesnāt fade.
Letting go of this blog hurts.
Letting go of you hurts.
Please know that.
Iām not deleting anythingāmy stories will remain.
But Iāve let go of my Discord account.
I need distance,
and a little peace.
Thank you, truly.
For everything.
You donāt have to worry about me.
Iām not okay,
but thatās okay.
Iām gradually coming home to myself, and it was only natural that Iād make something for my book. I wanted to make a website, but I also didnāt want the full commitment of that. So I settled for something I know and love; tumblr. I made a blog for my book!
Itās sort of like a smol place for self-help and inspiration for healing, being kind and true to yourself.
And a place for me to rant and post my thoughts and feelingsākind of an extension of the book to be honest.Ā
If you are into healing, mental health, poems and existential life topics check the blog out: @softly-rooted
Thereās also a tiny instagram (_softlyrooted_) page for it, if youāre into that sort of thing.
