Sheâs never been to Sinnoh before.
Logically, there had never been a reason to go -- raised in Hoenn, Magmaâs business had never taken her anywhere besides Kanto on one brief occasion. And when sheâd decided to travel a little, Sinnoh hadnât been on her must-see list. At least, the girl laments, Veilstone was not a hard city to stumble across.
Courtney isnât naive to the rumors, to the implications festering in nearly every region now. Sheâs been restless for years, and sheâd jumped on the opportunity to read between the lines and do something meaningful with herself again. Rocket sightings have been on the rise; Galactic has been s. stirring. Two decade-old organizations coming back. Sheâs curious. First and foremose, sheâs hoping Maxie will do something about it. But while Maxie has history with Team Rocket and its boss(es), heâs never been the slightest bit fond of Galactic, nor of Cyrus in particular. Sheâs always found it ironic that two men so similar shouldnât get along, but itâs never concerned her. If Galactic is back in an capacity, however, Courtney has little expectations for the Magma leader to look into it personally. Even when Cyrus is, analytically speaking, probably dead. So she sees the need to take it into her own hands. Investigate personally.
Itâs no official mission that brings her to the entrance of the old Galactic Headquarters. She notes that it hasnât been repurposed, but itâs been better taken care of than she would have expected. Has somebody kept up with housekeeping? Itâs... Interesting. Certainly lends itself to the idea that something is amiss with the ex-organization. So she takes one step forward, and another, the ends of her scarf dancing against her arm as she reaches for one of the doors. It doesnât give under her touch, but the girl isnât fazed. A building like this, however abandoned, would not likely be left unlocked. Courtney steps back again, slips her hands into the pockets of her jacket, and ponders if there might be some other means of entry left unguarded.
Rather, she means to, but she doesnât come to any conclusions before sheâs distracted by footsteps, heels, approaching from the stairway behind her. Nobody else has yet caught her eye anywhere near the old headquarters -- Â it piques her curiosity, and she turns to face the approaching figure, eyes steady and face inexpressive as she does.
