He had been foolish to think that it would have been possible to get out of that situation without a scratch... he just had to go an antagonize the man... what had he expected to happen, truly, from something like this? To not get shot at?

He had been hit too. In the shoulder. It sent him colliding with the ground and the pain caused him to curl up on himself. It wasn’t a regular shot, this kind had sent electrical currents through his body that made his muscles twitch and jerk, causing even more pain. The bastard he had taunted while trying to make his getaway stood over him with a smirk, something that angered Balthier. This man knew the sky pirate couldn’t do anything to him right now as his body twitch and spasmed in the dirt.
“My, my... what do we have here? The little sky pirate thought he could get away..! What a big mouth little sky pirate has, perhaps, if he didn’t run it he might’ve gotten away!” A swift kick to Balthier’s stomach had him rolling over with a wheeze. This man was going to beat him within an inch of his life... or to death... whichever happened to cross their mind first.
The man above him continued his beating upon the foolish sky pirate who whimpered, yelped and cried out for help. He attempted to kick the man away, to little success as the man took hold of his leg and sent a quick and hard kick to his crotch. The sound Balthier made was silent and tears immediately filled his eyes as well as feeling the need to throw up. There went all the papers Daiki was previously carrying as it flew high into the air after he unceremoniously crashed into someone. The brunet landed flat on his ass glasses skewed on his face. Brown eyes blinked as he righted his glasses and noticed the papers he was previously carrying were laying all around them.
❝Crap!❞ the brunet exclaimed scrambling to gather up the sheet music in haste. He blinked again realizing he had probably knocked down the person he had crashed into. Instantly the composer turned around (after collecting all his sheet music in record timing) and offered a hand to the older idol. ❝Sorry about that! Wasn’t quite watching where I was going! Kind of having a hectic morning right now.❞ Daiki chuckled nervously just a little.

“Call it instinct or what have you! I just... I have this feeling that he’s going to do something horrible to you!” That nagging sensation was starting to become obsessive... if it wasn’t that already. Merely hours ago, the thought of her being hurt sent him spiraling into an anxiety attack... he couldn’t lose any one else. He’d rather die.
“That’s not to say I’m deserving, either! But I think you should reconsider... please.” His head spun with a plethora of terrible thoughts, thoughts of taking her to a safer place by force. He was disgusted with himself, but he was dizzy and exhausted and just wanted this feeling to end.
