Wordplay Thoughts
This cover has like 1 altered wlw line but I think it is so brilliant.
The original line goes "She's a/She's a Lady/And I am just a boy", implying she's so much wiser and more refined than the singer- he just cannot compare- he simply doesn't think he's good enough. In a way, that kinda gets flipped over on it's head in this cover "She's a/She's a lady/And I am not a boy", which if you consider the meaning of the original, would just mean she is in fact good enough. However, she isn't a boy, she isn't an XY chromosome, she isn't who this, likely straight woman, wants. She's good enough for her- she believes they would be good together- but she knows it can't be.
She's really a line without a hook, not because she's not good enough but because she doesn't have what the "lady" needs to captivate her.
