yeeees, im from brazil!

ok so, Gigi has been on the media pretty much as far as i can remember (we have basically the same age).

Her first big role was as Mili in Chiquititas (a brazilian remake of a show from argentina). even though the show wasn’t in the biggest channel here in brazil, the story was still pretty popular ‘cause we already had a brazilian remake of this show ages ago (so technically, Gigi’s version of chiquititas was a remake from a remake)… anyway, the show became suuuuper popular and gave us some of the biggest young actors in brazil now like Maisa for example (who you can also find movies on Netflix and soon a teen tv show). I didn’t personally watched Gigi’s version of Chiquititas (i watched the first brazilian remake of it) ‘cause it’s targeted for young kids and it wasn’t really my vibe when her version came out.

After that, Gigi went to work for the biggest channel that we have here in brazil: globo. Her biggest role was in a show that had many generations and it had been on tv for ages, called Malhação. every season of this show had new storylines/characters but they were always centered around teenagers and their issues. Gigi’s season followed five girls that became bffs after a strange situation, and it was a season very focus on important matters like gender, sexuality, racism, mental health, addiction and etc. Gigi played Samantha and at first she was just a secondary character but then she became Lica’s (one the lead girls) love interest. Limantha (ship name) quickly sailed, it became incredibly popular and loved by the LGBTQ+ community in brazil and the general public (even tho it faced some hate from dumb homophobic people that didn’t want for them to have kisses and etc… but they had anyway).

The season ended but them it became its on show called “As Five” in a streaming platform that we have here in brazil, and follows the five lead girls facing the troubles of being young adults now and Gigi was present through the whole season 1, the show has a way more mature vibe ‘cause it’s not on open tv and it’s preeeetty good. Samantha (Gigi’s character) and Lica had a dramatic ending on season 1 and the show was renewed for a season 2 but now Gigi is on Rebelde so im not sure how that’s gonna work out with contracts and stuff… i would loveeee to see Gigi as Samantha again but not if meant she would have to leave Rebelde.

ANYWAY wow, what am i? Gigi’s wiki page? hahahah I tried to give you guys some context to everything. But on top of all of her career stuff, Gigi is honestly such a lovely and charismatic person and I think that’s also one the reasons she has so many followers.

Also, me a brazilian that has been following her career for a while and was a hardcore fan of RBD, i feel EXTREMELY proud to have not only a brazilian but Gigi itself in Rebelde. Especially if she’s giving us another bisexual queen and a great lesbian couple (im gay btw if you hadn’t guessed yet… anyway, let’s stop it im getting emotional)
