A treehouse. Lily lived in a treehouse. What was it with this island and treehouses?

Tamyra wasn’t sure, but she couldn’t help wondering as she approached the place, a bag of different bottles of water with her. The treehouse was secluded, sure, that was a benefit, but who ever thought about building it. It definitely wasn’t Lily, they didn’t have enough time for that on this island, so somebody before they arrived here. It was hard for Tamyra to wrap her head around it, though.

But the thoughts once she was walking away from it. She couldn’t find Lily there, so she just started asking around, and eventually she found herself in the middle of the charred, burned down portion of the jungle. Kaz and her’s doing. “Lily! Are you around?” she called for the woman before she noticed, “Oh, there you are. I brought a bunch of water, thought we could enjoy it now that it’s finally back. Maybe didn’t think we would do it here, but still. What do you say?”

He had aimed for a low-key entrance, to avoid the stares of his classmates, even going as far as to ask that he go in alone, because a group of four was bound to be more noticed. Unfortunately, that was always difficult to achieve in Hogwarts and Remus could feel eyes burning a hole in the back of his head. He found the little cluster of empty seats alongside other seventh years and claimed the seat by Lily before any of the others could. “Can I borrow your notes?” he asked, not saying Hello or Happy New Year or Did you have a good Christmas?, trying to stick to something practical to avoid the reality behind it.

Pacing almost-anxiously from one side of Lily’s living room to the other, James frowns at how stiff his left leg feels. While the Healers had assured him the wound was healed, the muscle damage itself would take much longer, if it ever healed at all. Not even worth the wicked scar, he mutters to himself, continuing his pacing. James knew that showing up at Lily’s flat early would mean that she was unlikely to be ready, but he also knew that his pacing around at home had royally annoyed Remus, who had threatened to jinx him if he didn’t leave already. 

His suspicions were correct when he had tumbled from the fireplace to LIly’s call that he was to stay where he was and not bother her. Ever-the-obedient, this had led him to this exact situation; limping his way around the room. It wasn’t that he was nervous, James Potter was never nervous, but he couldn’t help but want to make at least a little bit of a good impression on Lily’s sister, no matter how wretched she seemed to be. He had won their parents over with ease, but he knew that was nothing compared to Petunia. 

Brushing the ash from his pants, James rifles a hand lazily through his hair, thankful that he hadn’t listened to his father’s suggestion to use Sleekeazy's in it (he swears his dad promotes his own potion at home more than he does anywhere else). He wanted to look good for this dinner, of course, but he also wanted to look himself. Hearing the door click open behind him, he turns, hand still rumpling his hair, “So, I really feel like we’re back at school, and going to a Slug Club party right n-hey,” he pauses, a smile spreading across his face, “You look gorgeous.” 

So you live in the house with all the boys? Oh, God, I’m not going to have to deal with Sirius talking about his nipples again, am I? Once was too much.

James had taken a drink almost as soon as he got to the party; he loved parties and this one promised to be great, but he never turned down a drink. That would just be foolish. It tasted a little odd but James shrugged it off, scanning the room for his friends; they had planned to meet up but didn’t arrive together. But his search was cut short when his gaze landed on Lily Evans and he felt a sudden swell of emotion - not all that unusual when it came to her, but this was stronger than normal. He had to be with her. Pushing through the crowd, James reached out to tap Lily on the shoulder, eyes bright. “Lily!"
