Be Yonce'.
I will admit, I fell off. I was weaved and stitched into this patterned routine of my day to day repetitive shenanigans that I didn’t take a minute to enjoy my surroundings. I didn’t breathe. I didn’t appreciate. I didn’t invest love into the simple moments that attempt to make us smile. Instead, I tried to fast forward through my day. And what for? To dread the exact same thing tomorrow? To wake up one morning realizing you can’t even remember what you ate the day before? Like did you even eat? Or did you just swallow a ridiculous amount of caffeine that in reality, swallowed you whole, because all you see are caramel colored shapes forming your full sized bed that’s screaming your name when you get home. Now I realize, I need to push play. And in any moment I feel that it is getting too routine, switch to side B. It’s the only way to beat this game. Everyday needs to be a higher score. Be better than yesterday. Do more than yesterday. And no, not everyday will you beat that score. Some days you’ll be lazy, and fuck it, if that makes you happy…that’s perfectly okay. Even Pac Man closes down for a couple hours. But know that you need to do the shit daily that makes you feel like a mother fucking champion. Sometimes, the smallest things will make you feel like a winner if you’re just receptive to it. So let’s walk around with open arms. *hugs and stuff.
Those moments where you wake up and start your morning without taking a simple minute to soak in the sunlight that spills through your uneven blinds. That moment where you forget to acknowledge that you just started the countdown of the exact seconds left in a day that you and Beyoncé have in common, right now. I suggest you lay there. Let those snippets of glow, rain all over your body, until you’re swimming in the realization that: Life is good. Because it is, so fucking good. Because you should be inhaling this air that some people can’t even breathe anymore. Exhaling gratitude to just have been able to do that. And when you’ve taken that all in, stand up. Realize that in this very moment..You are dripping in gold. Now. Act like it.
