sales really aren't saling anymore. like besides the fact that everything is more expensive, so at best sales prices just bring you back to how much something cost like... last year--
i feel like actual, real sales are gone. i still remember when "bogo" meant buy one get one FREE not buy one get one 50% off. shit is now like buy FOUR get one free. like that is not a sale. that translates to just saying "buy five and we'll take 20% off." that's just bulk buying. that's a costco trip. that's overconsumption and hoarding.
even clearance sales are like "yeah, we've been trying to sell this shirt for like three months and no one wants it... still can't go lower than 40% off" like PLEASE kill yourself
reading the CSI companion and various interviews w key people from the show is always so wild because the writers had some ambivalence re: gsr happening (for various reasons from not being sold on it to not wanting the relationship to be rushed) and even lowkey considered shutting that door off (grissom was originally supposed to turn sara's dinner invitation in 3x22 - play with fire down for good) and then william and jorja would be like 'fuck you, we both want this' and they (along w carol mendelsohn) practically kept the ship alive. i literally owe them my entire fucking life at this point
(tho i WILL say. the writers were so fucking funny for being like 'idk, man, should this happen?' and then bam! 4x12 - butterflied! and bam! 'arrive like a couple, leave like a couple' in 5x5 - swap meet! every single person who made sure this ship should and would happen is great in my book)
Man, I wish 3d modelling was more like, idk tactile? That's not the right word but it's like, idk it's easier for me to conceptualize how to make shit irl than it is to make the same thing in blender, y'know what I mean?
It's like, thinking about a weird sorta helm visor style I want to make, if I'd want to make it irl I'd grab an sheet of perforated steel in a roughly diamond shape, clamp it down directly on the center line, heat it a little if necessary and bend it from there, ect. ect.
but idk I just cannot fucking fathom how I'd make the same sorta shape in fucking BLENDER, y'know what I mean? Like they don't have the same like, tools? Like Blender's just like "Hey here's a cube. Good luck! 👍" and like, man, my brain doesn't work the same way
the 'kiss bad' discussions of the first few days after s2 dropped were so funny because people were really claiming that david tennant and michael sheen of all actors don't know how to kiss men
